Let's hope the Turkmenistan government is unable to identify who you stayed with because this video can cause trouble for her. It would probably have been smarter if you did not mention the nationality of the person you stayed with. Still an interesting video, just a bit concerning that you do not seem to account for that individual's safety.

Hello everyone, I am originally from Turkmenistan and go back and forth, so one thing people always say is, nobody is allowed to enjoy, no this is not true. Population is low and sadly are overseas due to dictatorship and economy. However there is no segregation or anything like that and buildings are actually occupied. It’s super stoic culture outwardly plus add dictatorship then you get that super abnormally quite outside.

Thanks for the insight on the country from the perspective of a native person. Any time I see a video of this state, I am reminded of two visits I've made to Pridnestrovie/Transnistria; the stoic appearance of the locals, the quiet streets of the capital, yet the general good-naturedness of people when one speaks to them (most people know at least some English). And yes - as described in the video - the immaculate appearance of the city streets and gardens. I was really struck by how many people were working on keeping the place presentable when I was there. Of course I'm not under any illusions that these people are being paid well for their services.

Im South african , i enjoy watching europeans travelling eurasia , im always envious. Here in Africa it is abit difficult moving through the neighbour countries 1. Bureaucracy 2. We too poor to be spending money on travelling & exploring Africa too has stunningly beautiful scenes, i still wish to this day , that i could explore it. Anyways thank you for sharing your experiences 💗

South Africans don't travel enough, if anything your passport is stronger than most other passports but you meet other Africans allover the place, I've newness to South Africa and many haven't even traveled within their own country let alone outside, the need ans desire so expand horizons not as great .Many opportunities for South Africans even to teach English abroad, work outside the vountey on cruise ships -work say in the middle east and from there wirh the money earned and doors opened, visit other countries. Many not given the opportunities SA has -use them.

As a Turkmen, I have a few points here... Yes, it's not perfect there but every country/ state has their own quirks and it's unfortunate you were not able to explore it properly or meet the people properly. But it is not OK for you to make a video like this and spread false information about a place that you truly didn’t get to see and experience properly. Now about the points you made: - the locals live in the capital and the "white marble flats".... the government gives people flats when they are completed, depending on the situation etc. - The Internet, yes is regulated and restrictive but people always find ways to access it and use it and it is available as broadband and on mobile and has been for years now! - it is NOT 'The most dangerous' country to live in.... whoever told you that is lying through their teeth.... As a young woman, I feel completely safe walking the streets of Ashgabat at night compared to for example in London or even in Berlin..... - the locals during the day are working and if you travel there in the summer it is usually 50+ Celsius so most likely we are in a mall or somewhere with an aircon - the hike of the trail once a yr is also BS, not every person has to do and not every year... sometimes there are national events that take place but it's not as extreme as you describe it to be! - the president is NOT obsessed with horses... Horses are one of the national animals that we cherish as they are the most beautiful breed of horses you can find- Ahal Teke ... a simple google search would help you understand that! - the book was written by the old president and yes we had to learn and recite it in school back in the days but that too is not as extreme as it used to be and not every school and class does it as much as it used to be... and the questions about it for driving license is also BS... come on... - I don't know why you were not able to communicate with anyone but as someone who welcomed and showed tourists and visitors around I can tell you that the people are very welcoming and warm just like the other parts of central Asia. - the locals know plenty about the outside world, don't you worry about that :) we have wifi, we have internet, TV with global channels etc.... we have freedom of travel and movement.... its not easy and requires some money and patience but we have that! - we are NOT more restricted than North Korea! They cannot leave their country and have NO access to the outside world besides tourists etc.... we have A LOT more FREEDOM!!!

Who would have thought the 2 rich privileged babies with a giant dog who spend their life ''travelling' who know fuck all about a country. I laughed out loud as the 'obsessed' with horses part. I'm from australia and if you told me everyone is obsessed with Kangaroos because you saw a few flags with a boxing kangaroo we'd laugh at you. It's amazing how people like these 2 who are 'so worldly' are so ignorant. Cool video though, some great shots. just take out the sound next time.

I met many people from Turkmenistan abroad they absoluted hated the government there (I could communicate since I speak Russian). Same system in Tajikistan which I visited for 2 weeks, many told me they dislike the regime though some didn't like discussing politics to a foreigner. Nonetheless, Tajikistan is less totalitarian than Turkmenistan according to economist democracy index and freedom house.

It's well within the realm of possibilities that the Turkmen officials at the Turkmenistan embassy were reluctant to issue visas to foreign applicants because of the potential risk of those foreigners making videos like this one. That you guys were issued the Turkmenistan visa and ended up making precisely such a video wherein you report from an independent perspective and subsequently released it without, -- (I presume), -- getting its contents approved from Turkmenistan government, should be enough to get some visa-issuing heads rolling at the Turkmenistan embassy.

I love these videos and that you all travel so much and actually take the time to learn about the countries you visit.

Thought you’d show more of the country. Not you two sitting with your dog discussing the country.

I love your videos and the places where you traveled. It is very interesting when you tell your story and what you see and all the places you have been. I love it. I am too old to travel so I see through your eyes and you have seen a lot. Thank you for sharing and God Bless. When Daisy is fixed be safe. 🥰💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍(🐞🌹🦂🌵)

Too long, too dull. Needs better vocabulary and editing. As travellers and vloggers maybe not use negative words repeatedly, but respectfully? For example when mentioning the name of the leader of the state, "His name is weird", that 100% of everyone here as we all belong to different nationalities. I won't be following them, had come to check them out. Not my cup of tea. Wish them the best.

This. Kept saying dictator, weird, descriptive words were negative as hell.
