I enjoyed this video. I grew up in Toronto and I understand how you felt arriving at Union Station and looking at the CN Tower😊You also mentioned you went to Guelph to visit Mike's grandmother. I lived in Guelph for about 40 years before moving to Victoria so I know it well. I might have also known Mike's grandma🙂 Small world. Thanks for taking us along on your get away to TO.

When you grow up in places like Guelph, or other Southern Ontario towns/cities, you get very used to buildings made of brick or stone. When you move to Vancouver or Victoria it is a bit of a shock to find most houses are wooden; often stucco bungalows with no basements. It takes a lot of getting used to because the buildings feel less permanent. Vancouver, Victoria and Calgary are much younger cities, so there are a lot less historical buildings than in a city like Toronto or Montreal. I'll admit, that was one thing I always did miss on the West coast; the variety of architectural styles.
