I live 45 minutes far from Venice, in a beautiful venetian town. I’ve been in Venice plenty of times, and it’s always magic. But seeing the joy in someone’s else eyes, looking at Venice for the first time, it’s so emotional, so refreshing! It’s like living that moment again! Thank you, girls.

I apologize but I would like to clarify an important point : one of you girls spoke of Venice as an island but in reality it is not. Venice was built on the sea by planting millions of fir, larch and pine wooden poles in the sea sand on which a structure made of planks and stones was then placed . On this structure were then built the houses you see today .

Some of the best travel advice I ever received was on Venice. Someone recommended to bring a book. I could find a small courtyard, other times a place to sit by a small canal, always away from the crowds, and just sit and read. Once in a while a gondola would come past, but due to the lack of cars, Venice was an amazingly quiet city. It was great to just sit and soak it all in.
