Great opening theme from the late, great James Horner. RIP.

That bass line and the heavy rock sound is perfect for the film and the way the film opens with the backdrop and the horses moving to the roadgang is priceless I don't think it could ever be remade or bettered Mind with Walter Hill Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy on board its no surprise its legendary 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Eddie has had some amazing music for his movies. This theme and Axel F. are two of the best theme songs of the 80's, if not all-time. Eddie Murphy is the G.O.A.T

Simply one of the best scores of that era. Not too hard to see why so much of the score for "Lethal Weapon" was approached in a similar fashion. Of course, the argument can also be made that if not for this film paving the way for the genre, there might not have been a "Lethal Weapon" film at all, let alone the increasingly silly franchise that was spawned. Lol.

This tune, the first 2 minutes or so, just hard hitting. For a "buddy cop" movie, this film still packs a punch that films today just are unable to replicate. Now we get the rock and Kevin Hart, and it just comes across as goofy.

Same composer. Same use of steel drums throughout the soundtrack. I love Horner’s music but the guy did recycle a lot of his motifs throughout his various scores. But I love that 48 HRS, Commando and Red Heat have this musical continuity between them, so I don’t really mind that they’re very similar scores.
