What a rip off... I came for an autograph! At least I'm a part of the team though :D On a serious note, awesome vid showcasing this product, and thank you for sharing your knowledge/experience with us! On another note, what has worked for me was using a depth gage to get close to the exact cut depths, then filing to touch up the last bit. But with the depth gage card, I find it makes it a lot easier taking away a bunch of extra time figuring out what is off

Great review, thank you for doing this! The tips about using a scribe instead of a marker, and turning the key away from you as you cut to make the cut flatter, are great 🙏😊

I found that there was just enough play in the way the plastic pieces fit onto the cutter that if you’re not super careful you’ll be off by roughly one number here and there. What I found helped was to check my cuts against a key decoder, to make sure I had things lined up perfectly. If it doesn’t match the key decoder, either a file or re-cutting more meticulously works out (in my limited tests). Great video!

There's some fine tuning to be done, for sure, but that's the nature of invention. :) These are still a solid piece of kit for the money. Unfortunately, I think it will take some time before something truly accurate comes along.

Great video, I thought about getting the guide set but they are currently out. I think 3D locksport is making more for Deviant. Take care and have a great day. 👍🔐

There is a Mexican Locksmith who made the sliders for the keys. Imo its faster and easier because you can cut in steps and multiples.

great info although i dont think you put presser on the key when you cut the 9 like you did with the other ones, could that of made the difference!

I also made a video on the RTT Schlage Cutter Guides. I have a weird problem with my (probably knockoff) lishi cutter that the guides are off by 1, i.e. if I want a 3 cut I need to use the 4 guide. Also reading on RTT they suggest using a 0-bitted key blank as they say it's nearly impossible to get a 0 cut on the lishi cutter. This might explain your 9 guide problem... if you had a 0-bitted "blank" then maybe it wouldn't hit the back plate of the cutter (if 8 fits on the null(?) bitted, then a 0 bitted would fit for the 9)... Overall I think they are fun little tool, I enjoyed it. Where can you get 0 bitted key blanks? Well from RTT of course ;-).
@RubberBanned3 жыл бұрын
Fun bit of info, I make RTT 0 cut keys for them. ;) I don't think a 0 cut key would have resolved this issue, as even cutting the cuts near the 9 down to 4 didn't help. I think there's just a little bit of tolerance problems for now, might be able to resolve them somehow.

Great video, but tbh you clearly got early access considering they were sold out within the hour of them going live for sale. Again, great video though. Love your keysets too btw.

I did have one reserved for me, for the purpose of field tesing, as both Deviant, and 3D locksport are friends and business associates of mine. :)

Not that it matters much, but the numbering system you use is off. This is the second number (47) on your list. Anyway, I love my lishi clippers. One of the locksport youtubers (Jon's locks I think, but I'll change this if I'm wrong) is making files on thingiverse for these clip on style gages for several different keyways. I'd recommend checking it out! I may have to recommend he makes a scribe one as well!

Hello, you can find the guides on www.redteamtools.com for 50.00 USD, and they also have the clippers there as well. If you’re outside of the USA, Schlage guides such as these won’t be a great help.
