48 - What is logistic regression?

Despite its name, Logistic regression is primarily used for classification type of problems. In other words, it is a statistical method in which there are one or more independent variables that determine an outcome. Binary logistic regression examples include, sick vs healthy cell, defective vs good part or small vs large particle. This tutorial explains the basics of logistic regression.
