That has to be the best F28 takeoff video i have ever seen for noise and video. Great job, please get more if you can before they are not flying anymore. I wish i could get down there!

It’s because they all have the same engines (for the most part) the F28 is powered by two Rolls Royce Spey turbojets and the Fokker 100 by two Rolls Royce Tay turbofans

Back in the 80:s I flew them many times in Sweden (as a passenger:) Gothenburg to Luleå with stops in Sundsvall and Umeå. Linjeflyg was the name of the company. Surely a great plane and as a young kid back then you could visit the cockpit and talk to the pilots, brings back memories :)

I remember flying on them with Canadian Airlines in the mid 90s when I was very young. I remember one time we were approaching in a blizzard and the pilots had to perform a go around. They could really haul ass ay full throttle!

Love the sound of these old school turbojets! My first ever commercial flight was on a Fokker 100 which was the newer turbofan version of this.

I’ve flew in one of those when Piedmont used to fly them on regional service. I believe they are powered by Rolls Royce Spey which are low bypass turbofans that were loud for a turbofan.
@grandcrappy3 жыл бұрын
Sounds awesome, but I imagine 40% more fuel use than modern high bypass turbofan?

So beautiful to see and hear the F-28-1000! A beautiful takeoff! We only wish we could easily find engines for our aircraft, which is engineless and is destined for a museum in Alberta, Canada!

How about those mighty Rolls-Royce Spey turbofans! The Spey engine family was very successful powering industrial pumps, ships and planes on land, sea and air! The heart of the Spey lives on today as a derivative called the Tay which powers Gulfstream G-IV and G450, Fokker 70/100 and even re-engined Boeing 727 aircraft!

Great video of a very nice plane! There are no wrong lines in that design, it pleases the eye, and it remind me of when we had the flag carrying airline here in Norway, Braathens SAFE, which had a fleet of F-28 aircraft back in the 1970s. Thank you!

Magic! Thank you! My first flight, that I can remember was onboard a F-28 as an UM together with my sister, FBU-AES. Then a 737 to TOS via KSU, BOO,EVE. The next day; morning flight from TOS to ALF with a DC-9. Then 4 weeks summer holiday.
