Might want to look into jacks for the back of your trailer. Trying to keep it from lifting your truck. Maybe will help for the next time. We all have those mistakes.

$50 ‘weld-on trailer stabiliser legs’ off eBay is the answer. You don’t need to always have it park it flat. You just need to keep the rear tyres planted

Glad no one got hurt! Look at the bright side it made a cool video. Hopefully it goes viral! The mini x is definitely a sweet tool. Having loaded some heavy machines in the past I definitely recommend adding some telescoping jacks at the back of the trailer.

Even just pieces of 2x under the back of the trailer will prevent the trailer from lifting the rear end of the truck.

Jake, I have seen this happen many times, two small of a truck and no four wheel drive. Even on level ground it can happen on an snow covered road 👍🏼🇺🇸

I have experienced that EXACT problem unloading a Mini-X. And, yes, it was on a hill! Another solution is the stabilizer legs on the trailer ramp(s). They keep the trailer from squatting, which is what lifts the back end of the truck. My buddy has the stabilizer legs on his equipment trailer, such a difference. Sorry for the damage you incurred, when it happened to me, we recovered, no damage. But, the truck was headed straight for the customer's garage!!!!! Thanks for sharing, it just might help keep someone else from suffering that same fate.

Just order the seat cover- having them put our logo on. Have a new mini - that’s rented out. Cheaper than a new seat and excited to see the logo.

Jacks or blocks under the tail end of the trailer.. Wheel chocks, all tires, every time, flat or grade.

I appreciate you sharing the lessons learned. I think you are correct with the text that came to on the screen.... If you had it in 4wd that may have held it in place. (Just make sure it's really in 4wd, as in drive in 4wd a few feet before parking). If in 4wd and chocks either in front of the trailer tires or front tires on the truck would have held it

A rough day granted, pride a little bruised but ok, hinged legs on rear of trailer, park break applied on trailer & double curved wheel chock each side in-between tandems of trailer to stop any chance of run away even if truck did get lifted again , were here to help bud , good luck keep up the good work .

Get some weld on rear jacks for the trailer. It will keep the trailer from dropping and lifting the truck. I’m pretty sure there were more skid marks than what you showed. 💩 💩 💩 😊

My trailer does this too when I load my 6,000 tractor in my dump trailer on a hill. 2 options. Either put jack stands under the rear of the trailer to keep it from dropping. Or like I do. Just get on and off quickly. Easier to do with a tractor than an excavator since the travel speed is faster. I usually get past that tipping point quickly where the trailer and truck only skid about a foot before I get positive tongue weight back on the truck.

Yeah tractor would be a little easier, I got wheel chocks and going to be welding on some jacks, I don’t want to skid at all, once was enough haha

Hey Jake awesome video fence looks amazing. U should have ur buddy welder Chris weld u some legs/feet whatever u wanna call them on the back of ur ramps or mayb get some trailer jack stands the ones u can flip out of the way to block the rear so u can’t pick the rest end of ur truck off the ground thanks for sharing even the not so good moments god bless

Glad no one got hurt but if you ever have a run away again get on or off the trailer panicking and sitting on the end of the trailer is what causes it to keep going.

Jake, I almost did the same thing the first time I loaded my Mini Ex on a trailer.... I picked up some jacks that fold up quickly and welded them on the back of the trailer for heavy loading and unloading... problem solved.... Glad it wasn't any worse

Don't feel too bad. My last boss who was around machinery all his life did the same thing unloading a crawler loader off a trailer behind a dump truck. He set the truck brakes but not the trailer brakes. He was on a big open lot so not as bad but said it felt weird to have the trailer moving wile he was on the loader backing off the trailer.

If this ever happens again just keep the machine moving in the direction you were going, it's when people freeze is when the big problem happens. If you had kept going out would of only skid a few feet and then stopped... if you ain't breaking things you ain't making things

God only knows who you may have saved now that they saw this. please remember, never chase or try to stop a run-away. also with big equipment. keep small children from the job site, there is no reason for them to be there until they are old enough to comprehend what they are witnessing and can watch out for themselves. above all, don,t blame yourself, you didn't and couldn't see this coming.

Ah that sucks. One of my roofing crews filled a dump trailer in a customers driveway that wasn't hooked to a truck or blocked and one of the guys surfed it all the way into the street! I took it to the landfill to dump and the latch was up and I punched it through my tailgate!

Hey at least you learned and your not too proud to share your mistake for others to benefit. Says a lot about the kind of person you are. Mad respect. I learned myself to chalk my truck and trailer tires even on flat ground. I have an 11,000 pound dozer, so a small one but 11,000 pounds is nothing to take lightly. I tried loading it on a 24 ft gooseneck attached to my truck which is a 9,000 pound f-350 cab and chassis dually with a 12 ft flatbed. So we’re talking a lot of weight just in truck and trailer. Shoot!!! I tried loading my dozer for the first time, on flat ground, and what ever direction my tracks moved, it moved my entire truck and trailer the opposite direction even though my brakes were engaged. And when I tried reversing the track direction to stop the truck and trailer from moving, it just made everything move the other direction even stronger. I just had to stop everything, get out and chalk up. So yes you are correct in finding a flat spot to load and unload, but that machine is probably in the 8,500-9,000 pound range and tracked as well. Those tracks can really move the deck beneath you. So chalk up no matter what. I’ll second what another commenter said too. Weld you some jacks on the rear of your trailer or use some Jack stands when loading or unloading that beast. Beautiful machine by the way. I’m getting ready to order an 8,500 lb Kymron excavator. I can’t afford a Kubota on an E-6/TSgt salary and I can only work my side business on the weekends. But hey, 4 ton, enclosed cab, A/C, hydraulic thumb, angle blade, Kubota engine, Eaton and Parker pumps and drives compatible, 2 year warranty for $43,200. Can’t beat it man. Take care man. @DudeRanchDIY all you need are jack stands at the back of your trailer.. I'm surprised it doesn't already have.. if you can't lower the back of the trailer it can't lift the tounge up.. golden rule is flat level surface.. if not put someone in the truck standing on the brakes..
