3 years ago the last comment. I bet you have had so much positive feedback, that it simply does not matter to comment. I will do anyways :-)) 1985 I got my Spectrum, a 16k machine. All I was interested in, was to do hardware "things". Got 4164s, the TTLs and along with the help of an ELEKTOR (Germany) issue from that time soldered a bank select logic onto the present chips. It all worked out. Added some LEDs - and there was something wrong - and then - other things became more important. 35 years later, I opened the Sinclair "box", which travelled from Germany to the US, back to Germany again, resting for 15 more years, and now: Did not work, watched all your videos and: It lives. With an Interface1, talks to my laptop ... I like truly thank you for all you have done, shown, and are teaching. As others said: I love your general approach, your tone, your analyses, your conclusion - and your somewhat ... masked ... enthusiasm when a Spectrum comes on as you wish. Thank you very, very much. All the best, Thorsten

Loving your videos. The tone, pacing and style reminds me of Open University science programmes, and I mean that as a compliment.

What a great idea to use Chaos in self play mode as a soak test. :) Really enjoying your series of ZX Spectrum videos.

Totally agree! Great channel, very educational. I do some repairs myself but I am not a professional - this guy certainly is, and a joy to watch =)

I think this kind of ram is not compatible with divide hardware. Last year I repaired mine, ULA, TR4, regulator, Z80 and lower ram replacement. Also I did a full recap. A few days ago ULA died again (I think) :-/ oh well... Nice vid mate.

What makes you think the lower RAM replacement module is not compatible with a DivIDE? I'd be very surprised if there is such a problem and I haven't had any reports of one after selling rather a lot of these. One buyer did report a compatibility problem between the upper RAM module and a DiviDE. I have not been able to re-create it and a number of other users have reported the combination to work perfectly. There is a discussion on the matter in a thread on the World of Spectrum forums and a suggested modification that might help in some cases. ZX Spectrum ULAs are generally reliable and rarely fail without good reason. Damage is most commonly because the Spectrum's I/O connections have been abused. E.g. too high a voltage applied to the EAR or MIC socket or some of the contacts of the edge connector having been shorted together (though the even the latter doesn't usually damage the ULA).

The statement was "i think" because I red it on forums. Never tried by my self cause I dont't have this kind of ram, only the divide. Thanks for the advice about the volume. The truth is that my zx needed high volume to load games so it must be my fault :-\ Thanks again for your answer and time.
