hi la hover i wanted to share my experience with 49cc kits my first bike had one my top speed was 23mph after break in,my second bike was a raw 49cc it went 29mph put over 7,800 miles on it and it still ran i just retired it,my last one was a old 49cc early 2000s kit it went 28 no problem i feel like its really hit or miss with these but i will say all the older 49cc motors ive had went around 28mph

My first kit after seeing you channel was a legal 49cc kit. It just didn't have any power even after replacing most things on it. I almost threw in the towel but tried a 80cc kit and there is no comparison. It's funny how a 50cc moped or those Chinese motorcycles with 50cc engines can go much faster than a 49cc motorized bike kit. Seeing a real world conversion of one of these to the larger piston and jug might be cool one day.

My older bike in 2012 was a 49cc smaller engines more bolts but I did had an upgraded carburetor an exhaust header just a aluminum plate that looks cool and maybe the baffle on the exhaust removed CNC hub adapter and I kind of forgot what else but that bike used to haul butt it was one of my fastest bikes it hit 48 miles an hour like no problem it was a true 49cc

The way the engine powers the bike is all the difference the variator and final drive gearing turns high Rpms through a reduction that give torque. The motorized bikes use crappy gear reduction box low torque transfer. Without a running start at a steep hill you'll have to pedal to help the bike get going.

Hi , i made a bike with a 2.3 liter craftsman chainsaw body with a friction set up. It does about 20 mph with a home made exhaust and the tip is from a lawn mower. It runs ok and the face of people seen the chainsaw is worth millions !!! Lol. Now im doing another one using the gears to pick up some speed and make it more quiet with a 26.2 4 stroker. Thanks for the info .👍

One thing I imagine would really wake up one of these little 49cc engines is a case reed conversion. I'm actually planning on testing that with a spare bottom end I have that uses a beefy GT5 crank with thicker than normal flywheels (38mm stroke). With the intake completely filled and sealed and a 3rd transfer cut, I'll bet that thing gains a lot of bottom end. Couple that with a decent pipe and maybe add just enough exhaust duration to get it to pull up to 8000rpm, and that would be one smooth running little ripper!

51cc is classed as a motorcycle. Meaning you need a helmet, a motorcycle license meaning passing the course exam, get insurance and registration if you are going to ride it on the road. Like WHY FLUCK WITH it. ? Get a 175cc Japanese motorcycle where you can do 100MPH, insurance, registration, helmet, motorcycle license(no different than a car license - meaning they test you before you get it) and then you can play with the 66cc engine. Me, I would toss it in the trash and ride! Because I don't have the patience to fluck with it...I would rather ride.

I just recently had my first motorized bike stolen off of me. I had a heavy duty steel cable lock but somebody came and used steel bolt cutters to it. They got my pk80 on a Wasaga vagabond frame with the 6cc compression head, a high performance carburetor, boost bottle and an expansion exhaust. It's almost heartbreaking because I got really good at building the engines but I keep having problems with chain alignment. I posted on Facebook for the crime watch group in my area and a few people have seen somebody riding around on one like it but painted it black now it's this pisses me off that he somehow got the chain to work when he stole it the chain wasn't even on the bike I barely got to ride the thing I snapped two chains on it. I don't know if it was because it was the engine and frame alignment, I bought from somebody pre-built but he knew what he was doing. I don't want to give up on this Hobby and my next bike I wanted to work on building a yd 100. I'm just not sure what the best yd 100 is to get?. Is it the Zeda firestorm 100 or is it the bbr racing 100 they're the only two that I can afford right now in limited to $600 Canadian. I'm getting a hyper 26 in cruiser bike and was wondering if that's a good one too. Also a Bell u-bolt level 5 bike lock for it. I just wanted to get some advice on if the hyper cruiser frame is a good bike what would be the best yd 100 and also what kind of security measures can I use. I have a security bike lock that gives off an alarm if you try to cut it I also have one of those vibrational seatpost alarms and I got a magnetic GPS tracker. Now remember I'm Canadian so I'm limited to how I can defend myself. Police don't give a shit in my town either. I called them yesterday morning and they still haven't shown up. On top of that I've had two other people scoping up my girlfriend's e-bike that we've seen on our security camera I already got her that u bolt bike lock level 5 for e bike. Sorry to rant in such a long message it's just you know a lot about the yd100 and those engines and how to keep your bike secure and I'm just kind of venting right now and freaking out over the loss of my first bike and I know you don't know me or have any reason to care but I'd really like your advice on all this. I saw from this video how when you order a bike kit in you clearly need to take it apart and put it back together and re-grease everything to make it run properly and I want to build my next one properly that's the main reason I'm asking your advice.

Go to DMV and get the training manual for a motorcycle. Anything over 50cc is a motorcycle so you NEED a motorcycle license, a motorcycle helmet, motorbike insurance, a license plate and the serial number off the frame which is usually behind the headlight. I started with a motorcycle so know this schit. The Moped came later(as a "toy" to fucck with) It is something that gets strapped onto a Winnebago as a grocery store getter, nothing more. A YD100 is 100cc MOTORCYCLE not legal for highway because it can't got that fast and it tiny schit. It is a toy. No serious suspension so barely a DRIVEWAY rider. As for your stolen bike - go to the COP shop and ask to look at their recovered bikes.(there will be a lot of them) You need proof of ownership which means your purchase papers as the serial number is on that form. If you find your bike there then you can claim it. If it ain't there, well, you tried. Then who has it has it on the front of their motorhome or out back for the kids to play with. SOMEWHERE. Your only chance of recovery is LUCK and your proof of ownership because you got the serial numbers.(it is not something you can make up and it matches what is on the bike) You may have to STEAL it back. Or it is in a trash heap somewhere, rusting. That is life. . "Police don't give a shit in my town either." . They do when the bike is licensed, insured & registered with DMV. Though the only way they can find it is IF IT GETS LICENSED AGAIN then the red lights go on at DMV as a "reported" stolen bike. They have the address of the culprit and can cruise over there and seize the bike. But if he NEVER PLATES THE BIKE then you are up shitz creek. . I know this because I got a KZ400 Kawasaki that way. They never registered it in the beginning and I did. It is now my bike. They can eat a shitburger. I don't care.

The whole idea was not to get additional power out of them as a Moped is not to go over 29MPH so it barely makes it in the neighborhood on the slower streets. Seeing this years later, and idk about a second 66 BUT ive been kicking around ideas of a second motor.. would require fabricating a bracket for front fork if using combustion so that engine and chain druve can move independently obviously but this would cause issues in steering because if he weight. But that may be able to be mitigated with a counter weight. All that is alot. What ive been thinking would be much more feasible would be and electric motor up front. Would be lighter, require less fabrication (maybe none if hub motor) and it should give a very noticable boost to power and top end while also being a contingency if other motor dies. Just some thoughts but ifnyou get the time id love to get yojr opinion.

The painted motors are a result of whatever company's particular process. We cant assume all components or assembly is done in one building or linearly fluid. Individual components produced in several different small operations and shelf time mean for them the cheapest way to make sure yoi dont recieve a solid block of rust is to seal in paint asap after casting etc. Very much being a case ofnyou get what you pay for, the cheaper price will almost always dictate the buyer essentially becomesntesponsible for finishing properly. My only gripe is that this should be expressed up front to the customer in marketing or ay least come with some paperwork or manual that explains finsihing and prep prior to assembly

My motor is a 50cc. I have ridden it bone stock and slightly modified and as far as performance goes i personally on my own setup and use case find a poo poo pipe helps give it some more power. Its not faster but it definitely has a noticeable powerband now. I am by no means an expert butI hope this helps anybody.
@imcooldude26899 ай бұрын
Don’t you have to engage the clutch before trying to turn the motor over by hand? Not being rude or anything but I thought u had to do that when turning it over to check compression.

You have to run Lucas 30 weight oil and you also have to run through it with the magnese oil of breaking oil of two-cycle and it wants all that happens the bike was breaking down at runs really good but the Piston knocks but I'm taking that thing from like three times four towns away to go meet a buddy totally reliable so don't be bashing on those little 49ers they're pretty good

the one advantage I see in these 49cc 2 stroke kits is that they have minimal vibrations even on WOT. By the way, what oil to fuel ratio did you use?did you change the jets in the carb?

I want to do something similar But I want to attach the Motor to the front gear On the bicycle With an extra sprocket on the left side So that way I can Use the gear shifting ratio To work like a transmission So I can hit higher speeds But Use a pull start type motor Like a weedwacker or a chainsaw And even though they might be slightly louder I'm honestly okay with that

Please clean those Bering races that will help you so much with that little motor. It looks pretty gutless lol on Amazon.Ca the 50cc is more pricy than the 66/80 and sometimes the big bore motors. 😂😂🤣🤣

why fill with JB Weld, screw that aluminum screw into the hole tightly cut it off flush and sand it smooth center punch the bolt then remeasure an drill you can rejoin broken metal parts as long as you can zip using overlapping screws screwed as close together then in the small gap between drill and thread another screw hole that cuts the side of the 2 screws locking them tight can run vertical, horizontal, and diagonal

@@LAHover Had a lot of stud holes on 65 year old refinery compressors that had wallowed out rom vibrations and the massive number of times over the years that a valve that had broken and had to have it's cover removed to switch the valve body simply wore out the threads or actually dug the thread wider or oblonged the hole. as long as you use the new hole cuts thru both the bolt used to fill the space, and the threaded holes rim it's locked in by the last bolt threaded. Sometimes those old engines that were methane powered would crack a 2 ft long piece out of the split line of the top and bottom of the cases we'd take a long steel level use strong magnets to hold the busted out piece's part of the split line level and as close to centered as possible, then along the crack using a mag base drill, drill and tap holes 1/2 the diameter of the hole apart along the crack then fill that with iron bolts then cut off the heads and centered between the last holes drill out the empty spots and fill then with bolts and cut off the heads, till we had at lest 3 wide 1 row over the first lines and under all except the last holes drilled drilled and tapped so that each bolt had a clover leaf shape of bolts tapped thru the edges of each until the complete hole was filled, the it was ground and sanded till you almost couldn't tell it had been worked on. Sounds like a lot to do, but welding on those old cast iron cases was a no go sorta like this, www.metalockinternational.org/bedplate-metal-stitching-repair/ but they use way less now a days, than we did at Dresser Rand 15 years or so ago

First of all, my state has a FORTY EIGHT cc limit, which is what these engines are. That law was designed specifically for these engines. A 49cc engine is not technically legal, though I have one on my friction drive setup. But I also avoid attracting attention by staying under the 20 mph speed limit for motorized bicycles, and not making a lot of noise. I also wear a white helmet and a neon green vest that no punk kid with a highly illegal setup would be caught dead wearing.

You know, that might be a good indication of a bent or un-seated pin inside the main shaft. Good question though, let us know what you find.
