I'm late to the party on this, but really glad I've stumbled over your work. Have a 2008 and lots of bikes have come and gone since then, but I think I'll always keep my TMax. I would recommend for your weight, upping the oil volume. It won't affect the damping characteristics till the last third of the stroke, but it makes a big difference when, for example, breaking hard into a bumpy corner. The theory is you're upping the air spring effect, common, and recommended practice in the off road world where bottoming resistance is crucial. My next project is to try a Race Tech Emulator. People don't realise how quickly you can hustle these things, but the fork action is, in my opinion, the weakest link. Thanks for sharing.

Great video again. It was a bit off a scare for me to see that they still use ballbearings instead off conische bearings. I didnt think they use that after the year 2000 ! So for a T-Max a cheap bearing. When i do my t-max i will change them to conisch bearings. Then you never have problems again.

The ring nuts are DIN 1804, a piece of trivia with some marginal value. I like your homemade socket for them. If you don't have a wrench/socket, and you are going to use a pinch/drift to remove/install them, then I recommend using a scrap of brass or aluminum scrap. That way it doesn't deform the fastener, and no one is the wiser : ) Bearing/race dents would be brinelling. (ducks) Your Yamaha TMax videos will become the go-to reference.

Thanks. Sorry, this is the only service I've done to my TMAX. I have done it on smaller scoots : kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4jVhH94d7x4oNksi=_3zRbESSYuiXXKiO

Opened gear-box,original V-Clic.Extreme heavy to turn.50 000km.And axl bearing was blocked, but its fine after 1 day off. Also braking-system.Axl 17.1 mm and bearing position 17.2 mm and outside diameter, probably alike. But crankshaft is not pressed in the case, neither the gears.SO THE PROBLEM is bearing squezes the pearl. And front wheel even have good 1 mm free space.SANDPAPER off 0.1mm.

Not many people will get the front end bearings done for a 12,000 mile service. From oil definitely looked like it was due for a service.

Most of us ignore most of the recommendations and fix whatever breaks. Figured I'd give it a go and see how it treats me.
