One thing Purdy really needs to do in critical situations and also late in 4th quarters, is to focus Kittle. Every great QB had a favorite target in clutch situations. Young had Rice, Aikman had Ivin, and Manning had Harrison. When Brady needed a completion he threw hail marys to Gronkowski; when Mahomes needs a play, he always looks for Kelce. Kittle is the best playmaker and Purdy needs to focus to get him the ball when it matters. Shanahan also needs to call more plays where Kittle is the first option, but ultimately Purdy needs to forget the progressions and just trust the best player to make a play.

I agree, with almost everything David; however, the play that Kittle was wide open is on Purdy, knowing that he's a shorter QB. He needs to learn how to throw with anticipation that the D line might batt his ball down. Just like how Brees learned how to do it on a consistent basis. Plus, in this off-season, Purdy needs to be better playing in the rain and / or wet ball.

Brock is going to go down as the first QB in franchise history to throw for over 4,000 passing yards in back to back seasons, but people are still going to find reasons as to why the 49ers shouldn't pay him. Nevermind that the entire team has melted down and took turns making mistakes and getting injured which derailed the entire season. Nevermind that Brock literally carried the team for the first half of the season before everyone eventually gave up. It was a bad season all around. So if brock shouldn't get paid, the the entire team needs to get stripped of their checks. ...but thats not reality. The reality is, no one is perfect, but Brock Purdy isnt the problem. And he deserves to get paid based on what he's accomplished so far in his career. And belive me, the 49ers can definitely get better players than they currently have, this isnt the avengers. Paying Brock isnt gont to handcuff them from improving the roster. Just keep drafting, and draft well.

I didn't watch the whole thing but did David address the "Moody" miss? I've been bringing up Moody the past several years (yes, he's missed going back that long when they needed the points!) I asked once in a question/answer period and he got a little "annoyed" when I brought up the misses by Moody. Maybe I gave it more significance than it deserved, from Dave's point of view, but his "drifts to the right" and left for even short attempts has always been a little unnerving and I always thought Moody's unreliability was gonna come back to haunt them, I believe it has. They need to get rid of Moody!

We couldn't even score over 13.5 points in the first half of any game on 5-6 possessions. Brock Purdy, by throwing on 3rd downs situations, is the worst 3rd downs completion. In loses Brock was 3/14 on 3rd downs plays. Even in the superbowl Brock Purdy 3rd downs was 4/12 throwing in the superbowl.

this is starting to sound like year after year LeBron James saying he needs more help when at the given time Kevin Durant was better if you look at Brock stats the last 34 games that he started for the 49ers are slightly worse than Jimmy Garoppolo’s. I think a lot of quarterbacks would’ve won as much as they would have last year most of the top 15 quarterback quarterbacks would’ve won that much last year I was on the Brock train and I’d be fine with 30 million a year. Any other guys sucks really young safeties are really young all defensive line until a bunch of draft picks hit perfectly, which is extremely hard to do if you pay him $30 million extra I eat $60 million a year then the majority of the time this is going to be how it is so it comes down to a people are upset about what you need to wrap your head around is most 49ers fans. Don’t think he is good enough to pay that much money too. We want to pay that much money too about five quarterbacks in the league because if you do pay somebody that much money and they don’t get significantly better and or you don’t do an amazing job of drafting your team‘s gonna suck so I would rather play the long game with Brock and try to beat them up for three years or four years at 30 million guarantee or you forced him to play which you probably won’t or try to get somebody else and you use your drafts becausenot having a future is way worse than being hopeful next year for the possibilities of having flexibility and once you pay him, you are stuck so I think you need to come to grip grass. sorry, I think you need to come to an understanding of what people are actually upset about. They understand that Brock is OK. We just don’t think he’s good enough to pay 60 or $50 million for because he’s not that elite is he OK? He’s not he is a BAB minus quarterback and I like him, but that’s just the fact of life that he is and he’s also young too and he’s still learning so I think it would be best for those people for him to sign for your $20 million contract. this is starting to sound like year after year LeBron James saying he needs more help when at the given time Kevin Durant was better if you look at Brock stats the last 34 games that he started for the 49ers are slightly worse than Jimmy Garoppolo’s. I’m sorry I don’t want to pay a quarterback plus $40 million that has those stats. I think a lot of quarterbacks would’ve won as much as they would have last year most of the top 15 quarterback quarterbacks would’ve won that much last year I was on the Brock train and I’d be fine with 30 million a year.
