Been a fan for years and years. This current fan base is pretty toxic at the moment. This kid Purdy is on his 3rd year. If you want to call the first season a full season, you cant really. He was 3rd string. Was one game from the Superbowl. Not the Garopollo way of getting to the Superbowl either. He was balling out. Everyone was. His second year he goes to the Superbowl. His second year, like Burrow. His 3rd everyone and their mother gets hurt. A guy gets shot. Two different players lose their children. This stuff is bigger than football. Its a cursed season. Or a bad one if you dont believe in curses. Did we forget all of the QBs to come through since we had Garcia? The problem with the 49ers fanbase is the same thing that is good about it. We expect greatness and we were spoiled for many years. Back to back hall of fame qbs. This NFL qb thing is a really really hard gig. There are only 32 people on the planet that start at this job. And maybe 10 of them are competent. And Shanahans offense every throw is dangerous. It takes balls and intelligence. Hes got those. I love the kid and havent been impressed by a 49ers qb in a long time. As a fellow fan, can everyone just pump the brakes on the hate for this kid. Hes 24 and has a coach that doesnt let him audible. Kyles ego is very large. He takes no responsibility and never owns up to mistakes. Shanahan isnt exaclty known for developing qbs. Hell, look what he did with Lance. We really do need a offensive coordinator to take pressure off of Shanahan and maybe call some plays and not freak out the way kyle does in crunch time. Please lets not chase or wish this kid out of town. Because if Kyle does stay, there are not alot of qbs who can play well in this system.

Confirmation bias is very powerful. Some people have it imprinted on their minds that Brock was the last pick in the draft so he has to suck. Every bad game, missed throw, and interception is proof for those guys that Brock has been getting lucky so far, while they completely ignore 2+ seasons of how well he and the team has played when everyone's healthy. The only reason Brock wasn't drafted earlier was because of idiotic combine measurements like his arms being too short or his 40 yard not being fast. It's completely ridiculous, of course, because Brock was an excellent college quarterback as well, but these people don't know that so they think he just came completely out of the woodwork.

Either its windy, or wet and he can't grip the ball, or its snow and cold, or its that he can't throw over the line because he's not that tall, or its we have injuries and players are out... So are you telling me Purdy is great but it has to be 75 and sunny and dry with no key players hurt for him to succeed?.. Because this is NFL football and that's never the Case.... Nice try but quarterbacks don’t get to play in ideal climate situations every game at this level. We’ve seen Brock in in-climate weather conditions and the results have not been good. He’s too short, his hands are too small and he doesn’t have a strong enough arm. Everything needs to be perfect for him to excel. He’s not the guy to win you a SB. I understand people are upset with the embarrassing performance vs the Bills, but let's not abandon common sense. How would firing and cutting everybody help the team? Some players or even coaching personnel may be due to be removed, but that needs to be planned with careful evaluation and not on a whim (see Jets this season). Rebuilding a team takes effort and patience. There is a lot more tangibles and intangibles involved than salary cap management, and after all is done it's not even a guaranteed success. That is real life folks, not Madden 25. This season lots of players are injured, some are dealing with personal tragedies, and the dynamic of the team is going south. The Niners should look toward the next season and treat this one as a sabbatical from playoff participation. Focus on recovery and reloading of the team, and next look at the coaching aspect - more coaches to help, improve the schemes, having a backup plan, etc.

Let me summarize for everyone - Allen played from ahead and had open receivers so made easy throws to them. Purdy played from behind and didn't have any receivers open and had to force some throws where he had to grip it to rip it (creating a fumble from a wet/cold ball). He played a pretty good game all things considered. The problem is the defense and the offensive schemes (I'll keep repeating this one as most people can't imagine the NFL catching up to Shanahan...but they have...).

The issue with the defense isn’t the defensive coordinator; it’s letting go of Azeez Al-Shaair and Hassan Ridgeway both excellent run stoppers. Allen also played without a pash rush coming at him and a running back averaging 7.6 yards a carry. Allen didn't look that great until Ward extended their drive with a penalty and the run got established. If CMC had stayed in the game and running like that Brock would have looked totally different.
