The truth is I can sit here and give you a ton of reasons why the Niners are not what they were last year. I can tell you the same stuff that we've all heard about injuries and so on. However it's more than just that. The biggest issue with this team is they became overconfident they got too comfortable and they just expected to win games. Pictures of this team was exhausted coming into the season because of the five straight long playoff runs. The Chiefs beat the confidence out of the Niners in two different Superbowls in which they had the lead. The front office took to long to give Aiyuk the money that we all knew they would give him. This lead to their best receiver holding out until the last possible moment and it showed as Aiyuk was not in shape and his timing was off before suffering a season ending injury. This meant Debo was going to have to step up and instead he fell flat on his face. Opposing defenses used their number one CB to shut Debo down. Defensive coordinators figured out that Debo LAX equipment to get the jump off the line as well as separation from a good defender. This led Purdy into throwing way too many bad throws into good coverage. To make matters worse...they lost CMC early due to a season ending injury. Then their first round pick was shot and he missed valuable time building chemistry with Brock. All of this led to Juan Jennings getting a bigger role which he took advantage of. The offensive line still sucked giving Purdy little to no time in the pocket. Opponents were able to limit Kittle's impact by bringing a safety up to help cover him. At that point, Purdy had no time to allow a play to develop and few open targets. Once he lost Mason for the season he began just chucking the ball without any regard to what might happen. This team was built around the defense being able to keep them in any game. However, their defense began the season without two of their most vocal leaders in Greenlaw and Hufanga. Those two players typically make a lot of big plays and cause a lot of turnovers. Then they lost their biggest free agent for the season due to an injury. They had a first time defensive coordinator and a defense that was a shell of itself. What goes up will eventually come down hard and the Niners did just that.

Jimmy went on a 5 game win streak before he got injured and brick came in. Jimmy was undefeated with CMC. We haven't seen another qb play with the players Brock has... 9er players are the only reason Brock has good stats. This year no playoffs with a good not great 9er team. Bring in another qb. Brock needs an Allstar line, an Allstar RB1, an Allstar TE, an Allstar D#... to win. Not sustainable. Brock is average at best. The players make Brock better. Brock doesn't make his players better. We are seeing that this year.

nteresting game today between Chiefs and Texans. 27- 19. Stroud played very similar to Purdy in his game against the Chiefs that the Niners lost 28-18 (with a missed PAT). Stroud 23 of 39 59.0% 244 yards 2 TDs 2 int. 2 sacks Purdy 17 of 31 54.8% 212 yards 0 TDs 3 int. 1 sack Purdy's late interception was from trying to force the ball in desperation. If you look at the ratings of QBs in the NFC West as of this week (before the weekend games) Stafford is #14, Purdy is #15, Murray is #16, and Geno is #19. I expect with the Rams getting healthy, Stafford's numbers will improve. Geno is out so they won't change. Who is after Murray? Mahomes. We all have to take a step back and realize the Niners imploded and it was not Purdy's fault. But if you want to throw out the QB and coach, fine. The Niners won't see the playoffs anytime soon. With a good draft and reasonably high picks, I expect the Niners back in the playoffs next season.

Anyone talking about Rodgers needs to be ignored going forward. Rodgers looked washed in his last season in GB. He looked washed this season. He brings distractions and craziness with him. He's cancer for the locker room. It's the worst option possible. Cousins rumors will never end with Kyle Shanahan. People still can't get over Washington drafting him in the 4th after they picked up RG3 with the 2nd pick. They think Kyle will move on from any QB for Cousins, even though he didn't when that option was available. Darnold is playing well this season. The rest of that list are a big downgrade compared to Purdy, Sam is an unknown. One good season and if he had Kyle calling plays like he did this season for Brock, I'm not sure he's not seeing ghosts out there again.
