How could Mercole Hardman not know over time rule when Chiefs' offense extensively game-planned for over time, and agreed on what to do if the situation arose? Was Hardman left out while other players game planned? Mercole Hardman was overwhelmed by his prominent role in the unfolding events, and he momentarily blacked.

CMC only averaged 3.6 ypc. Abandoning the run wasn't the problem. Missing on Trey Lance was the problem.

That still averages out to about 10 yards after 3 downs as somebody who despises the 9ners (eagles fan) it had me confused when they put the game into purdys hands rather than the vets they have been going to all season. It seems like Kyle literally out coached himself once again in the biggest stage.

As a lifelong Niners fan, who grew up with the likes of John Brodie before Joe Montana, I completely sympathize now with the teams we played and routinely beat in the '80s (namely the Cowboys, Rams and Bengals) when Montana was at the helm. It didn't matter how far behind we were in the second half, we KNEW we'd still win as long as Montana was standing. That's today's KC Chiefs with Pat Mahomes. Ugh, this loss will sit for a while. But let's try it again, next year!

This loss is on Shanahan’s incompetence in poor decision on 3rd and 4 in the red zone in the 5th quarter. His poor clock management really cost the team dearly. He played not to lose the game, whereas Reid determined to take the Lombardi trophy at strong will.

He didnt choke. Trent McDuffie is yet another Chief that is Hall of Fame bound and he only just finished his second season. He walked into the league playing at an All Pro level, he just got injured for much of the early part of his rookie season. Then he came back playing at an All Pro level, won a Superbowl, returned for year 2, got recognized as an All Pro, and won another Superbowl. Despair, because he's damn good.

Chiefs are simply a better team than the Niners, who are full of prima donnas who can't work well together, and a coach who can't accept when his stuff isn't selling the room. Chiefs D shut down Deebo, Kittle, McCaffrey and finally, Mahomes played matador on the Niners' mega-buck D-line. Andy and Steve out-coached, out-bluffed, and finally, out-witted KS.
