Game is on order....once you are up and running and feeling comfortable with the game how long does it take to play a typical game? Conversely, how long would you expect the first 20 games to take to learn?

Once up and running, it should be about an hour for an enjoyable pace. I can rip through one in ~50 minutes, but I only did it once to see how quickly I could play it. The first few games will be closer to 75-90 minutes until you get the flow and acronym's down.

I have ordered the game. These slow playthroughs are very helpful. One thing I’m not clear on is how timing works during each period. I didn’t see you moving a timing marker or marking off time on a scoresheet. I thought it might be noted on the cards, but it didn’t seem so. Can you clarify? Thanks.

With Quick Decks, the timing is done with the Ice-Action deck. You build the deck at the start of the period, then once the final card has been used, the period comes to and end. End to End Hockey (due later this year) will use 10 second increments.
