It's good to see that quality versions of videos like this are being made available so that younger generations get a chance to discover them. There was a time when Tonya was kind of a big deal. Does anybody remember that her band Belly was actually on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine?

But then again, I've been on the Belly bandwagon since '93, and in the TD section since I first caught sight of her in "The Real Ramona"-era Muses, when I was still a late teen. Now I feel ancient... But never whilst listening to/seeing her. 😂

She got better with age and fame... There's a few very early videos here on the Tube that show her and Kristen in interviews and gorgeous they were not. Tanya looks heavily stoned or on some other hardcore drug in some of them too. Makeup and hairstyling is everything... Think Adele as a more modern example. That said... She's incredibly talented, down to earth and her interviews here on KZbin from the last 5-10yrs or so are pretty great. Lots of great insight into the music industry back in the day and she's smart and thoughtful in her commentary.

Those green eyes! Yikes. Tanya reminds me of the lead singer of the Dixies, though Tanya goes further back. She's the real thing up there on stage, no holding back, those perfect teeth, gorgeous eyes, a real beauty who belts it out with gusto. I'm in love all over again.
