Loved watching the video especially the first minutes on the coated hair! I stopped using additional raw oils and butters the way most naturals have been using it some years ago and my hair is thriving since. I thought it's my clay masks that made my hair absorb more moisture and getting wet, but by watching all these videos on no butter/oil I'm realising that don't use additional oils and butters to seal my hair. I also wash my hair at least once a week on a regular basis. My type 4c hair gets easily wet now and doesn't repell water anymore like it used to.

The level of detail is so appreciated. You clearly are educated about curly hair. Also, the level of care you showed is beautiful. Thank you! This was quite helpful.

I loved this video. I read the comments and I think her end result is the way it it because her hair has been dehydrated for so long. It takes time for her coating to get off the hair to continue to hydrate her hair (not just one setting). But the knowledge and technique was A-1!! I wish you had more videos this was great
@rachelelizabethartistry70082 жыл бұрын
Yes this absolutely correct and she asked to use a softer product so we knew we wouldn't get as much definition. I am hoping to start making videos again 🙏🏽 baby just turned 1

Sooooo where's the transformation? Because the end result was not impressive. The hair looks dry and her coils have no life. She could have saved her coin and achieved this "look" at home.
@rachelelizabethartistry70082 жыл бұрын
This was free, she asked me to try a softer product this time. We both knew it would not give as much definition. She had also never seen her natural curl pattern at home due to over use of oils and butters.

I have a question... does properly hydrated hair get less single strand knots?
@rachelelizabethartistry70083 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely!!! Those are also caused by split ends which need to be trimmed off.
@zhanicaarrindell55793 жыл бұрын
@@rachelelizabethartistry7008 Another question, if I get regular trims and keep my hair properly hydrated, would retaining length be easier and will there be less tangles and as a result less spit ends and single strand knots?

You can see her hair was missing the hydration for some time as the products weren’t really penetrating her hair strands and keeping them clumped almost like her hair was still being separated. More frequent use of the hydrating products would equal better results each time . Loved the end result though. Cute Afro like wash n go!

Why wasn’t the client placed back under the dryer for more drying time for a curly set or did she want a stretched Afro look?

Does Innersense have a gel with stronger hold?
@rachelelizabethartistry70083 жыл бұрын
I create hold is their strongest hold. Sometimes I layer the ends with I create volume because it's has a great cast too!
@rachelelizabethartistry70083 жыл бұрын
If we need more hold we'll use I create finish (their hairspray) at the end. Can be used before or after it's defused.

My stylist use uncle funky daughter and then top with I create hold. UFD is also water soluble. I don’t really stretch my hair so I maintain a lot more curls.

Oh no you cannot leave that conditioner in there rule numero 1. I would suggest rinsing out the conditioner entirely and applying UFD curl magic topped with Innersense I create hold. Try it and you won't forget me
@rachelelizabethartistry70083 жыл бұрын
I will totally try it but with knowing and understanding cosmetic chemistry there is nothing in the ingredients list that needs to be rinsed completely out. The ingredients mimic many many leave in conditioners.

What is Innersence?
@tmcurly3 жыл бұрын
@@rachelelizabethartistry7008 I think its not the fact that it has bad ingredients its because for our 4b/4c hair it does not stimulate the curl properly. Try the Uncle funky curly magic stimulator and no brushes or combs after wash then I create hold. She will have super popping curls!!

Thanks for such a great video! What are your thoughts on hygral fatigue? I get so confused. Information out there says too much water on the hair is bad and it’s best to “protect” your hair from water. So using coconut oil or a prep poo before washing is recommended so that the hair doesn’t take on too much water 🤷🏾♀️. So confusing
@rachelelizabethartistry70083 жыл бұрын
I have never seen someone's hair take on too much water unless it's extremely damaged already usually with bleach or relaxer. Butttt it is important to "set" the hair and either dry it with a hood dryer or a defuser so that the hair doesn't just stay wet all day long or all night. That is what I've seen cause hygral fatigue. And that is what other natural stylist who I respect a lot teach as well. I am still learning and researching hygral fatigue so if I get any new information I'll make sure to post! The pH of water is high for hair but that is why we use pH balancing shampoo and conditioner and products. High concentration of oils, butters, waxes silicones are not the best solution to a pH problem in fact they are one of the worst solutions.

No ma’am. That conditioner was not a good one to leave in. Should’ve stretched the hair with alligator clips while wet and let the hair fully dry and set under the hood. It looked so dry and unprofessional, I’m sorry. She needed an additional curling cream and better gel.
