Hahaha thanks! I have some great Peter Handford recordings of Midland 0-6-0’s - they really make this video.

This superb, absorbing video demonstrates a step change in an approach to railway modelling. Amazing realism with the weathering, and then real sound of the actual prototype locomotive has been carefully synced to the model. Love the realistic sheen on the express engine boilers, not like the dusty matt brown offered by other weathering studios. It's just astonishing! Love the layout design - a service offered by Neville Grove - I'm planning to ask them to create one for me.

A recent life changing stay in Hospital. As made me want to. Start a new layout after many years. This video brings back memories of my 4F that I have stored. This video just reinforces building a new layout. An excellent weathered model and layout. Keep the videos coming.

Please do start the layout and good luck with it! Thanks for the kind words, there are plenty more to come in the pipeline 👍

Nice lighting through the trees on this one and more superb sound sync.

Thanks Mike! It’s on a tight bend through those trees so that view is reserved for slow trains with short wheel base vehicles 😂

Congratulations on a brilliant series of videos. The wonderfully detailed layout , the loco and rolling stock finishes, combined with the "live" recordings make for transporting some of us back in time. Thank you. Have subscribed for more!!

Very impressive overall, trees and grass look well blended and the fences must’ve taken ages, but worth it!

Thanks and thanks very much for watching. Indeed, I still have quite a bit more fence work to do 😅

Another cracking video, I'd be very interested to learn about your lighting set up, looks like the background is separately illuminated?
@NEVILLEGROVE3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you very much. There is nothing particularly special about my lighting - in fact I am looking to improve on it further. At the moment there are recessed spotlights which have had very bright 10W LED lamps fitted. They are wide angle with a 120° beam but of note is that they have a very high colour temperature of 6000K (daylight bulbs). These are far better at replicating natural light and showing the actual colours of objects compared to a "soft white" or "warm white". The Backscene is not separately illuminated, but the wide angle beams of the spotlights wash down them.

For that first cut of wagons, are those knuckle couplers? I did not know the UK models had knuckle couplers.

Would it be possible to use the sound you’ve used in a video. I’ll be sure to credit you
@NEVILLEGROVE3 жыл бұрын
Umm it would usually be fine with me, but I am only allowed to use these sounds because I’ve got permission from the copyright owner - Old Thundridge Records. You would need to get permission from them rather than me I think. They own a large collection of the recordings made by Peter Handford in the 1950’s / 60’s. I bought them on CD, and they are available online if you Google Old Thundridge Records / Peter Handford.
