I do a super similar loadout with the Springfield and the vandal, the reload speed on the Springfield is awesome and Ive had good luck with getting 2taps, especially with the HV ammo

Winfield Vandal Striker and a Romero Handcannon. For tools; dusters, medkit, and fusees. For consumables; 2x weak vitality shot, waxed dynamite stick, and liquid fire bomb. In my opinion, a very fun and relatively cheap loadout that's pretty great for pushing compounds. Piss off the dolch guys by killing them with a loadout that costs about half as much as their secondary weapon!

I think you're maybe a liiiiiitle too in love with the sparks. I think that the springfield essentially fills the same role as the sparks, as it still takes down wounded hunters reliably (just a little worse than the sparks), BUT it has twice the reload speed, more extra ammo, and is only 38$ (!). The only real downside is that it does a little bit less damage, but in about 90% of cases, this does not matter. So, if you're actually going for a *budget* loadout, I think that the springfield is clearly the superior choice. Also, I'd say that fanning with a conversion pistol may be a better choice than levering with a vandal. Levering with a vandal is quite a bit less accurate than the conversion pistol, and is also waaay slower, which matters a lot of sometimes when you miss and you just need to get that second shot out instantly. Though the vandal is better when it comes to the quick switch.

Springfield is doing almost no damage after 60m though, it's medium ammo so the damage drop comes in much earlier. I think the Springfield is much much closer to the winnie or vet than the sparks, and also one of the weakest weapons in the game.

@@4FSGaming Really? Didn't think that damage drop off came in that soon for medium weapons especially. Especially with the medium ammo buff a while ago, you can see the effective range of the springfield is 175 meters, so I thought that it had a lot higher range. I'd bet that you can still get hunters to half health with body shots at 80-100 meters with the springfield, though of course it would still be worse than the sparks at a distance like that. However, I would argue that if you're going for a budget build, you shouldn't be trying to push past medium range anyways. Rather, if you're short on cash, you should be trying to go for medium-close range fights so that you can use the much, much cheaper weapons that are still effective at that range. So, this build seems like it might be for both those skilled enough for quick switch kills at ~100 meters, and who are actually expecting to be fighting at a range like that. Otherwise, I think the springfield is a much better choice if you're really short on dollars, and you aren't afraid to have to face hunters at medium-close range. Sparks is still really fun to use though, and can sometimes be better than the springfield, like for wallbangs or taking down hunters who took just a little bit of damage already. I just think that the springfield essentially outclasses it before ~80 meters, and with its much, much lower cost, you have a build that is sometimes even better than one with a sparks, for a much lower cost.

@@Digganob590 Yeah medium ammo has a rough drop compared to long. The headshot range is only that high because it has a 5x headshot modifier, while long ammo has 4x. At 50 meters, medium ammo is only doing 60% damage, and at 80 meters it's doing 40%. So that means 3 chest shots at 80 meters will only just kill, if you land any lower body or limb shots you need 4 hits! At 50 meters, which isn't that far, the only way you can two tap is with chest hits, anything else and you will need three. This is why I don't touch the Springfield, unless you get a headshot you are basically doing no damage. If you are in ranges where the damage is decent (closer than 50m) then the winfield is usually a better choice to anyway. The sparks is leagues better, and well worth the additional $100, in many cases the sparks can compete and outclass mosin and nitro, the springfield just can't compete with that class of weapon at all. And just for reference, at 100m the springfield does 39 damage to the chest, the sparks still does 95. If I can't even chip off a healthbar at 80m with a single shot marksman rifle, then that's a problem.

Me and a friend were under the impression that the springfield is basically a better sparks because of the much quicker reload, but looks like it's only better much closer. Still, if you're not a confident shot at those ranges, the springfield may be a better alternative for a budget loadout I think. Anyways, thanks for the info. Actually, do you mind telling or linking me where you got all this range/damage multiplier info? I'd like to know how the drop off system works better, if you don't mind.

@@Digganob590 Apologies I just released I was giving the stats for medium pistol rather than rifle range dropoff, so it's not quite that bad, but still pretty bad. It will deal 45% damage at 80m, and 70% damage at 50m Sparks is dealing over 60% at 100m and still 95% damage at 50m. This one is less cost effective but one of my personal fav loadouts is A lebel, and a caldwell chain pistol, with or without fanning your choice. The lebel iron sights is so powerful in the hands of someone with good aim the chain pistol is really just for if your in a sticky spot.

I like to take a small antidote and a big vitality shot because a hive can be a matter of win and loose in a fight if you accidentally pull one and then a dynamite stick and a sticky for those fast boss kills

Total of 130$ without the "optional" stuff, 238$ with "optional" stuff. And then, after you killed a few people, just pick up their Uppercut instead of your Conversion. Because you know you WILL 100% find it, with Uppercut being the Meta these days. Or buy an Uppercut right away instead of Conversion, up to you. But that's 275$ vs 26$... Kinda not worth in my opinion, since you can find one in-game, from other players easily.

Heh I have a friend who plays 90% of the time with Spark/Officer and he had like 80K but of course he didn't prestige since forever too. I find that at some point if ur good enough (KDA of 3.14 here), you will make more money than you lose if you don't have a very bad night which can always happen, so then you're better off spending more as otherwise ur money will just keep going up. I like the fact that with cheap guns though you can loot better stuff, always satisfying to trade a Spark for a Mosin for example ^^

Springfield and Officer. Knife/dusters, medkit, choke, flare. 2x health siringe, molotov, dinamite. It's basically same as yours, just different and much cheaper main gun. Springfield is better imo in prize/power compared to sparks. Reloads faster, sight is better imo, and it still does high damage, enough for you to quick swap kill with Officer.

With taking a vandal secondary, I'd much rather have a regular vandal for less sway (or steady hand instead of scopesmith) and no levering, levering on the vandals is very inaccurate (just look at 10:02 and I'd much rather have more confidence in crouched hipfire shots than higher rate of fire. I also think the springfield is more cost efficient/effective. Despite being less than a third of the price of the sparks, I'd say it's more than a third as effective, it has great range and muzzle velocity, lots of handling, and good enough damage. While it lacks some of the muzzle velocity and a lot of penetration at longer distances, the clips and playstyle shown in this video didn't really utilize the sparks' range or penetration either. If you just want a cost efficient single shot and dynamic rifle with high velocity then the springfield is a very good option, ESPECIALLY for budget/low cost.

I don't really find the springfield comparable to the sparks at all, it has much lower headshot range and the damage is almost nothing beyond 100 meters. It also will not reliably kill people who have been downed already. I'd much rather a winfield than the springfield. As for the vandal I preference the deadeye because with scopesmith you get a really clear view of the target for follow up shots, while the ironsights always seem to get in the way even with iron repeater.

Martini-Henry Riposte & Officer pistol is my favourite loadout. You get a knife with longer range and that 1-shots to the chest. And a single shot rifle with almost as much power as the sparks. It's definitely my favourite loadout rn.

This seems to be a glitch, I have experienced something like that on many other weapons - they sometimes don't consume any stamina. I managed to hit AI with my Romero Talon way more often than I should have been allowed to. It's weird. Afaik it's inconsistent for other weapons and a bit of a dice roll though.

Honestly, if you are on a budget, my favorite thing to do is take the free recruit Hunter, and change nothing with their loadout. If they survive a round out in the field, then I will kit them out. It also adds an extra dimension of difficulty into the game, not to mention zaniness

It's all about the speed. Flare gun allows you to kill pesky hive/armored during combat without slowing down at all. Same thing with popping red barrels. If I'm getting shot and need to heal while also dealing with a concertina armored, I'm going to be very glad I have a flare pistol.

Great video and amazing cost effective suggestion ! I am a fan of the Sparks and run pretty similar loadouts to your "without skillpoint" variant and am exited to try out the Vandal Deadeye. I do have a few suggestions for alternative loadouts that have the same gameplay in mind. They all come from the experience that I feel that long range shots without a scope are unreliable and thus would switch out the base Sparks with either 3 other variants which I feel give better results: 1) Replacing the Sparks LRR with the Sparks LRR Sniper: This is to me one of the best way to take advantage of the Sparks pros (high damage a long range and high bullet velocity) by being able to reliably hit medium to long range shots. In medium to close range fights, the Nagant Officer is enough to two-tap to the chest (no need for the huge sparks damage) and is more forgiving. The hip fire of the Sparks sniper is also good (got a few kills like that) but I will not really count on them... The downside of this variant is that, if an enemy hunter got picked up, you don't have the close range one-tap of the Sparks. Also, it is a bit more expensive. If this is your got-to playstyle, I suggest alternative 2. 2) Replacing the Sparks LRR with the Martini-Henry Riposte: To me the Martini-Henry only loses to the Sparks at longer ranges where its damage and especially its bullet velocity becomes an issue. But at medium to close range I feel that they are the same. The Riposte variant allows for the one-tap stab to the chest that is very useful when you get pushed in by shotguns. You might want to get the Brawler variant of the Nagant Officer in order to deal with imolators though. 3) Replacing the Sparks LRR with the Sparks Silencer: This is a bit of a meme but the reasoning is the same as for the Martini-Henry Riposte. Longer ranges are a no without a scope, and at close range the damage drop off and bullet velocity penalty is negligible. So the extra utility the silencer provides is welcome. so, huge personal take here, i prefer the sparks silencer to the sparks for a few reasons. 1) max range is 144m, and 95+% of fights occur within that range, so there's no real range loss 2) it's silent, meaning you can silently obliterate any AI, including bosses. this is coupled with the fact that the sparks has a sizeable ammo pool; you won't hurt for ammo by taking out AI. 3) it's only slightly more expensive, meaning it has very similar value, if not slightly more due to its silence the big two cons, of course, are the muzzle velocity and the sights, both of which come down to comfortability in my opinion.

I go Springfield instead on my budget builds. While weaker than the Sparks, it still delivers that same two tap if both shots hit body. The Officer is a great gun, and if going purely for budget and saving money, leaving one consumable open and searching for one in the field is a good idea. I will say that the Sparks would definitely be much more reliable for dropping folks who've received scratch damage, but the Springfield is really solid.

@@4FSGaming To be fair, I'm a much more aggressive player when it comes to closing distance, so I'm sure that works a lot more in my favor. Most of my fights are below 60m. And I lose most long range fights. So I close range where I'm most effective. With its low cost though, simply being more aggressive and having a partner with you knowing its weakness could definitely make up for its downsides. If its dropping off hard outside of 50m though, then the devs need to really change that effective range stat for it because boy is that misleading then. Also, as a personal bias, something about the irons of the Sparks and I don't get along. I carried a game with a Springfield, then carried another, then the next I picked up a Sparks and I literally missed a standstill target three times. I cried. I can't aim with the Sparks for some reason. So I might be a little biased against it. The Karbiner though is my go to when I have a little bit extra in the budget. Many thanks for pointing out the 50m thing, did not know that.

I prefer the martini because the reload speed is faster and I love that dead eye. The bullet speed is slower but the damage is only 6 less.

I sometimes feel like unlocking and using the riposte, but by the time I unlock it I get frustrated with the martini's velocity to switch to sparks. The sparks is far superior in my opinion. The velocity and damage increases are huge. 6 damage doesn't seem like it's much, but when sparks is 149 to the chest it gives excellent readability. If someone has taken ANY damage, and you hit chest within 40m they will go down. You can't be sure of this with the martini, and as such can't make plays that rely on it. Also the martini's bullet velocity is comparable to a winnie, and a decent long range weapon has no business being that slow.

@@4FSGaming I agree, I just can't get over how slow the 4s Sparks reload feels compared to the Martini's 3s. I supposed I'll just have to get used to that feeling, as the Martini's slow velocity feels so bad at long range.

fun fact, the conversion fmj has a farther headshot efficiency range than the uppercut. if you want to just get more bullets, then it's fine to bring a uppercut but if you want to shave off some cash, conversion with fmj helps. it also saves you from using long ammo to wallbang. for the tools, id highly recommend at this point replacing the flaregun with throwing axes. the recent patch has brought up a buff to the throwing axes against some soundtraps like horses and helps you get rid of armoreds without having to have them scream loudly, and you get your ammo back. if you choose the officer, try to use the brawler variant and ditch the knife for decoys to silently take out the kennels and coops. it can also help you diverge away a water devil by throwing the decoys to where you want the devils to go so you can cross. it can bait people to poke their heads out to where the waterdevils are making a ruckus, and helps you land that opened shot. the sparks is a great gun, expecially at range. comparing the martini to the sparks is kinda pointless especially with the reduced second of reloading. yeah you might be getting that but you also are getting a slower round, and that in turn means you might have to spend more rounds trying to kill a target cause you leaded the target wrong when they were crossing the plains. another really great tip is to experiment and have fun. you will die. you will lose your kit. nothing is ever really truly yours in the bayou. get over the hurdle of getting upset at a fair fight, and you will find that you will enjoy the game more, and you will improve faster! stay safe and be efficient! stars and KDA dont mean crap anymore, so just enjoy the game and share the knowledge!

Silenced weapons are nice, but as a solo range is arguably more important than stealth so I'd take the sniper variant if anything.

Ok maybe in duo's I could agree with you but if your a true king and play against trios silence sparks is the best and only gun you should be reaching for same with the silenced nagant it let's you quickly and quietly take down pve to move around the map uncontested and let's you ambush teams and stay out of danger and constantly be moving as they will never know where they are being shot from

If you are going solo against trios you can't afford to devote weapon slots to Pve. AI can be easily avoided and silently dealt with if you take a knife/throwing knives. The only scary solo player in my experience is one with sniper who knows how to move, any solo we find with stealth gear is usually a very easy pick.

@@4FSGaming I still say being silent is a better option from my experience its helped alot I went with the normal before I also used the dolch with it and well it got me nowhere and my kd was a crap 0.61 but since I've been using the silent version of this loadout I've been doing alot better and my kd/win rates has gone up I get out with bountys more often and I'm rocking a 1.00 kd it's been far more valuable then the louder counterparts

As a solo player I struggle with the sparks because when teams push me hard I can't quite put enough bullets down range to ward them away. I've honestly had more success with the Martini

dude this loadout got me killed so much.. its so confusing having a vandal with a deadscope with levering while having a sparks - when we are so used to quick switching to a pistol from a rifle. Stop looking at stats and numbers bro its not what this game is about

Fanning only works with single action revolvers, the officer is a double action so it already has a very rapid fire rate.

I run the Springfield and nagant pistol for my budget with medkit and knife, this runs me exactly $114 as for consumables? Toolboxes are my friend, this is a load out you can use at level one and is all together cheaper than just the sparks itself and easily competes with it Advantages:Cheap, easy 2 taps and can be used at any level. Disadvantages:Weak at close range, optimal at medium to long range And if your feeling cheeky you can use the compact Springfield and an axe instead, dropping the price to $68 because of your lack of a need for a knife, this makes you less effective at long range but makes you a powerhouse up close and at medium range.

Quickswap is still the only viable playstyle when using single shot weapons, switching to a secondary is much, much faster than reloading a sparks or springfield.

I prefer Martini over Sparks. Does better in closer range, especially the Riposte. And I just bring Fusees, or decoys. One molotov as well, for burning in a hurry. I just plain prefer the Martini overall though.
