Amazing Howard Hughes and those of us who worked for him or his companies have license plate holders that say Thanks Howard or Hughes Aircraft Co Leader in Technology. Great man to work for

I suffer from OCD. The fact that an individual was able to not only cope with one of the hardest psychiatric disorders to treat today and achieve all he did on top of that is a miracle! He is truly an inspiration to all sufferers and it is such a pity that he is not with us today.

A great man. Brilliant, talented and innovative. The way he went out wasn't fair and we may never see his likes again.

He suffered from chronic OCD all his life. Remarkable what he achieved inspite of it and back the when it was undiagnosed!

+oncall21 actually most creative people have OCD that is why they are good at it because they do things that interest them they are not a mindless drone like most people
@filminginportland16548 жыл бұрын
blakespower well I don't think most people are mindless drones, but I do agree that most creative and highly intelligent people have mental health issues, often severe.

I can't help but wonder where not just flight but passenger service and even space flight would be if the meds that correct chemical imbalances and today's pain management strategies were available to Howard Hughes. He would have functioned normally and probably lived 10 or 20 years longer. What a loss for the US and the world that he couldn't be appreciated until long after we lost him. Someone who deserves to be called a great man.

He would be rolling in his grave if he could see the way his family is now being treated by government.

Thanks for the comments and appreciation for the man. 4 of 4 will be out tomorrow. I agree with you all and do believe he was very misunderstood as well as unappreciated.

He didn't resign, actually. He stepped down from the committee and was publicly humiliated, but didn't resign from the senate. He did, however, lose his next election due to the massive hit his image took and the fact that Hughes made huge campaign donations to his opponent.

@jcpulido803 жыл бұрын
He didn’t resign. But stepped down from the committee hence losing the next election due to the damage that action caused to his own image and of course Mr. Hughes funding his opponent campaign 🤣

Many creative, highly intelligent people have odd problems. I sure do. If it wasn't for crippling depression and other issues that wasted years of my life, I'd probably be very rich by now. The smarter one is, the harder to escape mental illness it seems.

The Aviator really failed to accurately represent his height. He was 6'4". Hepburn looked even taller than him in the movie. Otherwise a pretty good film.
@johnheinrich17184 жыл бұрын
Watch, if you can find it, the move, the amazing Howard Hughes, 1977’ about a 3 hour movie, begins with Hughes as a young boy, till his death on a flight to Houston Texas, from a book by Bob Thomas and Noel Dietrich, much more factual than the Aviator movie.
@lashtal15 жыл бұрын
now you know why they followed him.

I'm curious Christopher Lynch, Why is EVERY part of your 3 part "Best of Howard Hughes" uploads, CHOPPED UP and INCOMPLETE? It makes for a frustrating watch, Further more, if HRH was his preferred name? Why did you title it "Best of Howard Hughes"? Instead of "Best of HRH"? Seems a bit disrespectful in my view.
@tedcarr10 жыл бұрын
thanks for uploading this rare footage Christopher Lynch. Over 100,000 people appreciate you doing this for us.

@drewnwalker The only reason HH is the legend he is now is because he's dead, and everything about him is out now. At the time people didnt really care about him, he was no more interesting that Donald Trump is now. People were not aware of his problems until after he was gone. Long after Donald is dead and some weird info about him gets out, and some makes a movie about him, people will say the same thing about him.
@hardy21754 жыл бұрын
Hughes was a real billionaire who pioneered airflight, put his life on the line whenever he tested his aircraft. And Trump had his Vietnam in studio 54 fighting STDs.
