I was there, years ago. Walked the path in the most beautiful morning light. Visited 12 Temples that day and got all the stamps. The clerk at the last one was like "woah sugoi, pilgrimage?!" after leafing through my filled stamp book. I want to go back so bad...

I did that back in 2017, easily one of the greatest experiences of my life. I wish I knew of a way to display my accordian stamp book (I think its called a goshuincho) , as for now it just sits in my bookshelf like any other.

I visited Japan in April 2013 and walked the Philosopher’s Path in the opposite direction from Ginkakuji to Nanzenji. There were several school groups: all very orderly in their military style uniforms. But the overall atmosphere, with a sense of calm and the breeze moving the overhanging sakura made it easy to forget the outside world. On many occasions whilst in Japan I found myself wondering if I was on another planet or perhaps in another person’s dream. At about 17:55 minutes a building is visible on the other side of the stream. When I was there, the building was a tea room where I enjoyed some dango in the small garden. When I left, and crossed back over the bridge the waitress started singing to invite people in. I don’t know what she was saying but the sound floating through the trees gave me goosebumps. It is gives me goosebumps even now just thinking about it.

At 16:20 you come across a tempel (where you went left up the philosophers Path). Ik went straight and up the mountain. If you keep climbing the mountain you'll come across ancient burrial grounds. Ik didn't know they were there, i Just went for a walk. Buy i found it very fascinating.
