Here is a view of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Jamaicans come on here talking smack and comparing Port of Spain to Kingston SMH. And of course want to fool people with talk that Jamaica is more developed. Jamaica is the second poorest country in the Caribbean after Haiti. Trinidad is more developed and that is a fact. Half of the businesses in Jamaica are owned by Trinidadians including 'Air Jamaica'.
@StGCfiLife10 ай бұрын
Do you realize it used to be different in 1990? Guardian Life was owned by Mutual Life. The PJ Patterson govt messed up Jamaica badly. They de-industrialized Jamaica. In 1990, TnT was going thru a bad recession. In truth TnT suffered badly from Govt corruption too, as you should be much further ahead with the Petro and Asphalt $$$$. Anyway, the cussing and rivalry thing is ridiculous and crab in the barrel will get us nowhere. The countries need to cooperate more and also reach out to Africa and India with more trade and cultural exchanges. Those places are so huge, that even crumbs off the table would fill our bellies.

Waw...😮 a lot of jealousing Jamaicans on here lol. Its sad, because we always speak so fondly of Jamaica here in T&T and y'all over here hating on us and trying to compete with us? Sad! To each their own! I pray ALL countries strive in their unique ways. I've viewed many hour long walking and drone tours through different cities of all Caribbean Countries, to get a great alternative scope and experience to physically being there. A lot of those videos included Kingston, Montego Bay and Spanish Town as well as cities in my own T&T, such as POS, Sando, Chaguanas, Princes Town etc. and, to conclude, each island has a unique nature/ characteristic about their towns/cities! I always thought this to be really beautiful, but.... unfortunately, we don't all think the same way. Dear Jamaicans, please compete with yourselves the same way we are. If you want to compare, from what I have seen, we both have horrible pavements, potholes and other infrastructural issues that our governments need to tend to. Bless.

The fact that they are in the comment section being so hateful, and can't even appreciate someone else glory is not US TRINBAGONIANS PROBLEM. They're MAD because the spot light is not on them. @Tejaye777 Жыл бұрын
Had Manning stayed in power all of Laventille and Belmont would have been incorporated into Port of Spain (East Port of Spain) and he had planned to relocate the settlements there It was to be replaced by modern buildings and new developments. However he came out of officie in 2010 and by 2014 Oil prices had dropped sharply. So these plans of extending the boundaries of Port of Spain and putting a "New Port of Spain" like Jamaica has a "New Kingston:"never became reality.

As a Native Trini, seeing all these hating yardies got me laughing! Nice Kingston is finally getting '20+ stories' tall buildings, while here in T&T, San Fernando, our "Montego Bay", is basically getting the same face lift, a new waterfront, harbour, skyscrapers, the whole bit. Also, we have a lot of highways under construction that will develop many major towns that will soon be elevated to cities. I think Kingston is dull, bland, too many greys, dull shades, its too spread apart, lacking that charm, that infrastructural unison like Roseau or Kingstown and other Caribbean Capitals have. I hope they build structures with more vibrancy, that'll really enhance the aesthetics. I really love the trees though, there is a lot of greenery, that is nice for shade especially in the heat these days. I think Montego Bay is more attractive than Kingston, hope there will be developed also. A Caribbean city I think we should not sleep on is Georgetown, Guyana! ❤ Its really attractive, once the new bridge is built, and I think they're building some mega tall Skyscrapers? Those projects will reallyyyy carry up the beauty & charm! Go Guyana❤ its about time. *I hate that y'all Guyanese also hate on us though, trying to compete with us all of a sudden, when in your poor days, your pre-oil days, our government stepped in and forgave you guys in millions of debt....* smh. ALL we wanna see is that all our caribbean neighbours are doing AMAZING... sigh, anyways.... I also reallyyyy love Bridgetown, Barbados! Its beautiful ❤ EXTREMELY beautiful.

I actually DONT like too many tall building for Kingston. We had a MASSIVE earthquake in 1907 that did damage to Kingston and Spanish Town. We have a history of one every 200 years or so. There are a lot of tolled highways being built by the Chinese in Jamaica. Kingston to Mobay is now a 2hr + drive instead of 5. Jamaica is very mountainous, and the tallest peak is nearly 2.3KM. Downtown Kingston is finally starting a rebirth and I posted a link in another comment to a Book picture of Kings Street in the 1950s. Taste is a big thing, as I dont like MoBay at all aesthetically. LoL. Gimme Falmouth and Spanish Town (if rebuilt) any day. Google Falmouth and you will see what I mean. BTW, here is the size comparison of town in Jam. Span Town is the 3rd largest, bigger than Mobay and Portmore is and extension of Spanish Town, bordering Kingston: Rank Biggest Cities in Jamaica Urban Population 1 Kingston 1,041,084 2 Portmore 685,000 3 Spanish Town 162,359 4 Montego Bay 110,115 5 May Pen 82,000 6 Mandeville 72,000
