[4K] Best Amtrak K5LA Horns!

The Nathan Airchime K5LA Train horn was first put on Amtrak's F40PH Locomotives and later on the P40/P42DC Locomotives in the Early 90's and the early 2000's. They were designed to bring a more cheerful sound rather than a lower sounding horn. The K5LA is easily a favorite among most railfans. Since the P40/P42DC fleet will be getting replaced in the coming years, we may not hear these 90's and 2000's era of horns. Wow that's absolutely awesome great job and the P42 has the best 90s K5LA horn and I didn't know that amtrak P42 184 had a K5LA horn change

Yes, 138's horn before was amazing... sad we lost that and 816's horn. 817's horn is surprisingly good though!
