Yes, that is very true. I'm an American expat in Asia and I've been convinced that Americans by and large are being misled about PRC, at least when it comes to how they've scaled up their civil infrastructure and economic reforms over the last 30 years. Still, some serious issues must be addressed in China, but the fact that hundreds of millions have been lifted out of poverty in a 30-year timespan is a humanitarian feat that should be acknowledged and replicated.

Never knew this existed. Wow. This city is huge! In the description of the video it says that the city's total jurisdictional area is 22,100 square kilometers, which is just under 14,000 miles. But according to Wikipedia, the central city core is only 8,567 mi², which is a little under 14,000 sq. kilometers. That's still massive! For comparison, Los Angeles, CA is about 502 sq. miles and Phoenix, AZ is 517 sq. miles. Both are considered two of the biggest metro areas in the United States in terms of land area covered and this relatively unknown place in China dwarfs them by over 10X! I loved seeing all of the urban greenery. It definitely has earned is nickname "Green City."
