José Ignacio used to be a fishing village but it turned to an upscale resort. José Ignacio is a flashy, lively extension of Punta del Este’s social scene, drawing wealthy visitors and celebrities to beaches like Brava, also popular for surfing, and Mansa. Yoga studios, cocktail bars, and terraced grill restaurants, often connected to hip hotels, dot the grassy peninsula. José Ignacio lighthouse has steps to the top, with South Atlantic views.
Laguna José Ignacio is a body of water located between Maldonado Department and Rocha Department, Uruguay. A sandbank separates it from the Atlantic Ocean. There is a pretty new brige over it now, and the land to the east, mostly farm land, is starting to become an upscale tourist destination too with new developments.
This is one of the best places you can find in Latin America for a summer vacation! No doubt it is a top destination.

uruguay es lindo pero le falta mejorar su infraestructura vial y tener lineas de tren / subte

El subte sería para la ciudad y en Montevideo es inviable porque el suelo rocoso es muy difícil y costoso de perforar. De todas formas,el transporte con el que cuenta,es suficiente para recorrer la ciudad, aunque quizá con alguna especie de tranvía podrían bajarse los costos.
