As an American who has studied the history of the UK, including the relationship between England and Scotland, and has had friends from both countries, I find this trip enticing. There is peace and prosperity, so that people can go from place to place without encountering armies. It would be nice to turn into some of the cities and pass some time in pubs talking to the locals, exchanging life experiences and savoring their ways of speaking. But, that would add a day or two to the trip, and someone else would have to drive. Thank you for screening such a mesmerizing trip!

04:36:00 Ah the Aston Expressway - used to have nightmares about driving on there! 7 dynamic lanes and no central barrier or separation. An experiment that wasn't repeated very often!

I live in Bham and my wife is from Glasgow and we usually do this trip once a month. For me best time to do it is either at 7am or 8pm onwards as the traffic from Bham to Manchester is horrendous at times.

I'm very aware of the notorious M6 traffic jams!

How was the drive? I'm thinking of going from Glasgow to Birmingham as well.

The drive is relatively simple as you're following the same road for most of the journey; the M6 can usually get very busy south of Blackpool

Glasgow in Scotland because it’s freezing up there and pitch black, fog, ice, snow or sleet 🥶⬆️🏴🌫️🧊❄️
