The problem was a developed (loose) connecting rod bolt. Prior to the repair, a slight rattling sound was heard from the Tractor's engine as it started the tractor.
We did the overhaul of the engine ourselves.
We only used Genuine John Deere parts.
New Pistons, Cylinders complete with Segments, Gaskets, Connecting Rod Bearings and 1 new Connecting Rod. We washed the block very well from all the dirt and soot accumulated over the years with a 250 bar water jet.
We sanded and fitted the Valve beds because there was a need.
We also made a small modification of the Tractor Coupling. The axial bearing was not lubricated. We added a nozzle and grease nipple and it can now be lubricated from the outside without splitting the tractor in two !!!
The price of the original parts cost us about BGN 3,500 - 4,000 ~ 2000 EURO
