If you move there, be prepared to have bears at your doorstep during the warmer months since the restaurant dumpsters and your neighbors' garbage cans will offer a plentiful food source for them. There was NO natural gas pipeline in my neighborhood when I lived there , so you will have to buy expensive oil heat or have electric heat. There is very limited public transportation. The rental opportunities for year-round residents are extremely limited. They had a few good restaurants, but you will likely pay Manhattan prices for almost everything there. It is a very nice town with a great library, and one can actually walk to the mile or more from Church Street to Tanglewood, but almost no one does it. I lived there from July 2005 until August 2007 and in Berkshire Country until 2015.
