I was headed from Bwi to west palm with Southwest on the max. Was a week old. This was back in September of 2024. My mom heard an engine noise and thought it was something not good. The FA was so nice and called the flight deck to see ❤. Turns out it was just the engine buzzing 😂. The important part was we were all safe, especially flying over the Atlantic Ocean for some time.

Alaska's fruit and cheese trays never disappoint! It's my favorite snack on any of the US airlines.

This flight was beautiful, and this seat is PERFECT for the Max 9! Not only the flight, but the airline is the best of its class in my opinion. Absolutely perfect flight. The night landing into SEA was also very nice, the landing lights made for perfect lighting. Thanks for more great footage!

Better than average mid flight snack - and I liked watching a NO SNOW video - we are still covered in white with single digit temps here in VA. Tks - 👍

Well to be fair, I flew into MCI two nights ago and there was snow there now haha. But not when this one was filmed haha.

I guess YT decided we didn’t need to hear any audio between 1:50:48 and 2:36:14 ! I already read your comment about this issue below, so no need to explain. 😁

Yeah I'm really scratching my head don this one. Never had that happen and as you saw, the original file is fine. So, it's a mystery.

Other than through your lens, I have never flown in/out of KC. From your landing and now this takeoff video, it would seem the KC airport is in the middle of nowhere. There was never any indication of urban or even suburban development as one typically sees at larger city airports. Interesting. Enjoyed as always.
@sla31Күн бұрын
You are correct. One of the major downsides of MCI is that it's WAY up on the extreme north side of the city. If you want to drive from MCI to the lower parts of the KC area, it takes about an hour just to get there. Even just to get from MCI to downtown KC it's 30 minutes. I live in Kansas and it only takes me 2 hours to get to KC but it takes me almost 3 hours to get to MCI from my house. It's annoying how isolated and away from the city it is haha. It's a very nice airport, but its location is a big downside.

Great fly! I heard that you stated that the location of airport near you has downside. For me, the downside is very similar but cost too. There aren't many flights to/from Knoxville and it is very expensive. The nearest major airport from where I lived which is Atlanta or Nashville with similar drive time and cheaper cost.

Don’t know if you’re aware of it, but the video goes nearly silent at 1:50:48, resuming normal volume at 2:36:15. Otherwise very nice as expected.
@sla31Күн бұрын
Hmmm... Interesting. I was not aware of that. In fact, I went back now and checked the original file to see if it was a problem there or if it was a YT problem and the original file is fine. The project file from Final Cut Pro is still there as I haven't removed it from my editing computer yet and it's fine and so is the exported file that was used to upload this video. So it would appear this is a YT issue. Not sure what I can do about it, but I'll look into it. Thanks for letting me know, but IDK that I'll be able to do anything aside from deleting it and re-uploading it. Which I wouldn't do now that it's posted anyway. I spot check videos once they're uploaded but I don't generally do a ton of spot checking during the cruise portion haha.

WOWOWOWOW!!!!! Super-Fantabulous views!! That looked like Issaquah there and Lake Sammamish there. Looks like you went right over the Microsoft Campus. Whoa! There's my house! Good view of Ballard and Fisherman's Terminal. That's where the Alaska fishing vessels spend the winter. Good view of Magnolia. That's the most politically conservative neighborhood in Seattle. Back in the 1990s, there was a house, the Palermo House, about 1-2 miles north of Sea-Tac that had about 100,000 Christmas lights. You could see it coming into Sea-Tac. The pilots loved seeing this. On the house property itself were hundreds of Santa figurines of every kind imaginable to see. The Palermos were an Italian couple who moved to Burien decades earlier, and they would begin putting up their X-Mas decorations in September. That's how long it took for them to get it all set up. 2000 was the last year they did this because Mr. Palermo had terminal cancer. But anyhow, another fine video on your part. This flight well illustrates the difference between Kansas City and Seattle during December, how much darker it is here than there. It's nice that AK Air is running between these 2 cities now. When I flew to MCI back in 1987, I went on the reincarnated Braniff Airlines and later, I had to take Northwest Airlines.

Why does it sound so low like it’s raining in the middle of the video? Around 2:00:36
@sla31Күн бұрын
Something is wrong with the audio on this video in several spots, but there isn't anything wrong with the original file. So something happening either when it was uploading or when KZbin rendered out the file. Nothing I can do about it now unfortunately. It appears to be a YT problem and the only way for me to potentially fix it would be to delete the video and re-upload it again. Which I'm not going to do now that it's posted anyway. So it is what it is I guess.

The sound is so low in the middle of the video.
@sla31Күн бұрын
Yeah, several other people have noticed it and I don't know what's up with that. It's definitely a YT problem, as the project file and the rendered file that I used to upload the video are fine. It's too late now though. The only way to potentially fix it is to delete it and re-upload it and I'm not doing that now that it's already posted. So you can thank YT for that one apparently haha.
