Nice vid as always! What did you think of Long Beach? Im about 20 minutes away and LAX is closer, and surprisingly LAX is cheaper to fly out of on Southwest lol Also, don't know if you know but Southwest has initiated a major expansion of routes from LGB and even Orlando nonstop is starting in the summer to connect Disneyland and Disney World as the city mentioned. I just feel with an increase in service and now that AA pulled out I feel Delta will as well as Hawaiian since SWA serves basically everywhere those other carriers fly to, including more so I don't think it will be cheap anymore lol.

I liked Long Beach. It was a nice little airport. I hadn't specifically been watching LGB, but it was clear during the couple of hours I was there that Southwest was the major beneficiary when JetBlue left. I was there for nearly 3 hours and Southwest had a constant flow of aircraft in and out. The entire time only one other airline flight operated and that was a Delta flight on an E175. I could definitely see Delta leaving. I'm not sure about Hawaiian. A lot of people will actively pick Hawaiian over Southwest because they offer so much more on their flights.

@@sla31 Oh okay cool, thx for the reply. I just thought Hawaiian would leave if Southwest added flights to KOA and LIH from LGB. Because SWA already serves HNL year round and OGG seasonally.

I live near Joplin, Missouri. So my true home airport is Joplin Regional Airport. However, they only have two flights per day on CRJ-200's. So, I often drive to other airports in the area. There are 6 commercially served airports within driving distance of my house and I consider them all to be "home" airports. They are: Joplin Regional Airport - JLN Springfield-Branson National Airport - SGF Northwest Arkansas National Airport - XNA Tulsa International Airport - TUL Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport - ICT Kansas City International Airport - MCI I use Tulsa and Kansas City more than any of the others though.

Well, I try not to play favorites, as I try to feature a good variety on the channel. Though I inevitably do end up having favorites. My current favorite US legacy style airlines are United and Alaska. My favorite non-legacy carriers in the US are Southwest and JetBlue.

Im.surprised Southwest isnt considered a legacy carrier at 50:years old and that many planes. Where is the dividing line? I was always curious about that.

@@currituck legacy carriers are those that can trace their roots all the way back to the beginning of commercial air service in the US. Technically Alaska isn’t a legacy carrier, so this can get a bit confusing. The renaming legacy carriers are United, Delta and American. Former legacy carriers also included TWA, Continental, Eastern and Pan Am. Anything, or anyone, who came about later, no matter how old, aren’t legacy carriers. Even Southwest, with their long history now. So you have the 3 legacies, then you have what I call the niche airlines. Those to me are Alaska, Hawaiian and any of the other smaller carriers in the US like Denver Air Connection, Silver Airways, Cape Air, etc. It’s just easier to list Alaska with the legacies when answering a question like this because of the product they offer. Then you have the low costs like Southwest and JetBlue. Then you have the ultra low costs like Spirit, Allegiant, and Frontier. More recent additions to the ULCC category are Avelo and Breeze. Although Breeze is kind of a hybrid. Anyway…. I’m getting way into the weeds haha. The bottom line is that legacies have to be able to trace their roots back to the dawn of airlines in the US.
