This is flight 2 of 13 from my recent journey around the world. In September/October, I set out to circumnavigating the Earth, and after 9 days, 8 airlines, 13 flights, and over 24,000 miles, I eventually landed back in Kansas City after visiting San Francisco, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Tokyo, Osaka, Bangkok, Doha, London, Dublin, Munich and Newark. Over the next 6 weeks I'll be posting these flights in order, so you too can take this incredible journey with me! If the video doesn't have this bit at the top of the description, and in the pinned comment, it is not part of the around the world flights. Enjoy Segment 1 MCI-SFO: kzbin.info/www/bejne/laGnZYd8eq-bfs0

I just finished watching today's Bold and The Beautiful episode and now, I'm watching your video. Great views throughout this whole flight. Great view of SFO. Seeing all of those freeways in LA made me think of the song by Dionne Warwick where she says "LA is just one great big freeway". Well, we're going to get hit with one of our November storms here and this one may be a Pineapple Express coming straight from Hawaii. Those storms are usually very wet and cause a lot of flooding. But, we're way under budget with the annual rainfall, so we need this. I hope those passenger made their connecting flights.

This was a great flight with a cool takeoff over the bay and the landing into LAX was very cool too with that big final turn landing on the south side than the north side, because most of the planes landing from the north would arrive on the north side. The views were very cool and I loved your shot of Imua One at the very end!

I noticed whenever they have storms or have very cloudy conditions pilots will usually fly just below the clouds until the clear spot open up to sneak above the clouds my intuition, because I am not a pilote, it's just by observation since I used to fly a lot, my observation is that they avoid to fly directly throught the cloud, I love that part of the flight because it always feels like they fly on manual and the movements of the aircraft is just so cool you really get to appreciate the amount of engineering that was invested in creating these awsome machines.
@thilomanten8701 Жыл бұрын
The operations in SFO and the closeness of them to each other is just startling, to say the least. A heavy on short final for 25L, nonetheless 2 aircraft released on 1l and 1R for takeoff - awesome!
@TheFamilyman7 Жыл бұрын
Looked like priority handling all the way. Bypassed SFO departure queue to back-taxi for take-off. SoCal brought you over the LAX finals to make left traffic for 25L. Cabin crew asked your neighbors to sit tight to let PHX and ORD pax off first. Great service AND beautiful Cali views enroute. Wonderful experience through and through !!
@sla31 Жыл бұрын
Well, I don't know the exact situation, but I do know the crew were not too happy that ATC at SFO parked several aircraft in the alley behind us when their gates weren't open. Meaning we got stuck at the gate for like 35 minutes not being able to push back. So maybe ATC was trying to make up for that haha.

It's getting to the point here in the states where it's hard to avoid them haha. Not that I want to, but I mean it's hard to even plan a trip now that doesn't involved a Max 8 on Untied, American, or Southwest. Alaska will introduce the Max 8 in February as well.

It never fails to amaze me how such a relatively small wing, “as long as the physics of flight and the manufacturers instructions are followed right down to the exact amount of knots of airspeed at the appropriate stage of the flight” manages to lift several hundred tonnes of aircraft Into the sky and, in skilled hands, can land almost perfectly on the destination runway! Thoughts?

Been enjoying this series of round-the-world flights that you took (and no doubt will enjoy the rest of them). Quite the strange approach to LAX's 25L, but I'm thinking that was most likely due to the pilots requesting south side priority for tight connections. Hope all the pax to ORD and PHX (and their luggage) made it to the connecting flights! Also, what's up with SFO ATC recently? I saw your comment down below about the aircraft parked behind yours in the alley causing a 35 minute delay.

This is a really abnormal approach into lax. Usually flights from the west coast north of lax make the left turn just north of lax, and do a 180-degree right turn into lax.
@SYDAirlineEnthusiast Жыл бұрын
@liamcheval7601 I don’t think weather was an issue lol. The video clearly shows is being a clear, sunny day. As someone used to live in cali before and does fly through la a lot, this approach is extremely rare unless you are a cargo plane.
