I want to personally say thank you for making these videos. I had a horrible case of aerophobia for the first 45 years of my life. I took my first flight in 2019 and, although I got past the fear enough to do it, I was still very anxious every time I flew after that. Your videos have been a huge help in working through my anxiety and normalizing the flying experience for me. I can say that now I fly with confidence and zero anxiety. Thank you!!!!

I'm so happy to hear that my friend! Many people have left me similar comments over the years and honestly, when I started doing all of this, that wasn't even on the list of reasons why I started making these videos. I really just started this channel to share my love of commercial aviation with others. But over the years I've found that people watch them for all kinds of reasons I never even thought of, and this is my absolute favorite. I am so glad that my videos have been able to help you and others overcome your anxieties towards flying. Allowing you to travel and experience new places without fear! A rare instance when a delay actually benefited me 😂. This was supposed to be an afternoon flight in full daylight, but was delayed by several hours which turned it into a sunset flight.

Wasn’t that flight filmed in the winter months? I ask that because in the beginning of the video inside the Edmonton airport the clock showed 4:50 p.m.

@@daleburrer1546 This was filmed in May. May 9, 2024 to be exact. The time difference between the airport shots and the actual flight were due to the massive 3.5 hour delay the flight took waiting for a crew.

A rare time when a delay actually helped me haha. This flight was delayed quite substantially. By like 3+ hours as we were waiting for a crew. It was supposed to be an afternoon, full daytime, flight.

Looks like the title of your video got goofed up, saw that this is YEG to YVR instead. But anyhow, love that Alberta prairie. And a BIG cheer for Gabby Thomas for winning her Gold Medal!! Wow. She KILLED it!! And loved how the Nigerian woman won the 200m hurdle race. She kicked ASS on that track and FLEW over those hurdles. And Go Katie Ledecky!! @@sla31 Damn errors. Well anyhow, just watched Morocco win the gold in the Men's 3000m steeplechase. It's amusing to see humans get treated like horses in this event. Well, now, it's time to go watch today's General Hospital. Yep, Ava Jerome is in BIG trouble for nearly killing Kristina last week, causing the death of her unborn baby, and for sabotaging Sonny's bipolar meds. Yep, there's Ava in a jail cell, and she's STILL tying to cover up her role in causing Kristina to crash thru the hotel window. Sheesh! Soap opera characters never seem to learn from their mistakes.

What do you use to book flights? like do you use a third party or the airline to book?

I always book every flight directly with the operating airline. I never, ever, use third party sites. Using a site like Expedia or Kayak is asking for problems. When you book through a third party site, you are effectively using them as your travel agent. Which means if there is an issue with your ticket, you then have no ability to fix it yourself by calling the airline. You have to call the third party and then they have to fix your ticket, which is extremely difficult to do. There's also a misconception that third party sites are always cheaper, and this isn't true. On rare occasions they can be slightly cheaper, but usually it's the same price or even cheaper to book tickets directly through the airline. If the ticket is cheaper on a third party site that means it's a bulk ticket and has ZERO protections. You miss your flight, you're out of luck. No credit towards another flight, no refund, nothing. They are extremely restrictive and IMO, the very small amount you might save isn't worth the potential headaches if something goes wrong.

I make videos on big planes all the time my friend. At least once a week. I wish I could solely make videos on big planes, but they're usually being used on long haul international routes and those are quite expensive. I can't afford to only take those types of flights haha.

No, I do not. I upload videos every day, but I don't fly every day. I fly pretty much just to get footage for this channel. So, I try to fly as much as I can every day that I do fly. I typically fly around 8-10 days per month. I often fit 3, 4, or even 5 segments in each day. My record is 8 in one day and I did that one time. I've done 7 in a day twice, and 6 on a handful of occasions. That's how I can post every day, but not fly every day.

Westjet flight to Seoul

Unfortunately WestJet operates that flight with a 787 and I won't take long haul flights on the 787. Not because I don't like the plane. I actually enjoy flying on the 787. But filming on the 787 is a nightmare. Not only are the windows never completely clear, leading to a blue/green hue to the footage. But the crew can outright lock the windows closed and then the whole flight is ruined for me. I pay for everything you see on here out of my own pocket, and I can't afford to pay for long haul flights like that to just have the crew lock my window closed. So, I will not be taking that flight.
