3:21 This large tube is called the S-Duct. It is basically the air intake for the #2 engine (middle). This engine is actually located at the very back of the plane, and not at the front of the intake. All three aircraft had their #1 and #3 engine upgrades to a higher bypass (these are still low bypass turbofans) and more powerful engine. However, the #2 engine (middle) one was not because there is no additional space. Trijets (especially the 727) are my favorite aircrafts because of their engine configuration. The design is quite clever and sleek. Unfortunately, most trijets are no longer in production, expect the dessult falcon 900, falcon 7x and falcon 8x.

With EPRs that high, it must have -15 or -17R in the center, and 219 for #1 and #3 . I would have liked that FMS on the ones I flew...

One of PTK’s approach patterns is over my house. You can definitely tell when it’s the 727, considering I can feel it when I’m sitting down. I should really get some videos of it but haven’t got around to it. This is a great video! I’m surprised I didn’t hear about this, I would’ve loved to see it up close and personal. By far my favorite trijet! Edit: Now I know, it’s the Air Show isn’t it? I haven’t been in a long time. Now I’m going to have to go!

That’s correct, this was filmed during the airport open house. During the open house runway 27L remains operational. That how I was able to film it taxing. I’m hoping to get a video of the approach of one of these 727, just like the video I made of the challenger 300. My uncle is one of the bosses at ptk, and I can say that they hate those 727s, because they are very loud and heavy. They call them the “pavement pounders” because they will sink into the asphalt if they sit too long in the same spot. The 727 on display was resting on half inch plates to avoid sinking. Hopefully they keep flying, as they are some of the only remaining operational 727s.

@@BGTech1 N821FL flew over 3 hours ago from Anniston, Alabama. N215WE came in last weekend, so still very active and always look so clean. Hopefully they’ll keep flying for many more years to come and they can still maintain them. Thanks again for sharing!

Unfortunately no, but it’s very similar to flight deck of 215WE.
