Yeah. Juneau's takeoffs are always spectacular. I feel a bit sad tho that there are no good quality videos of "Lemon Creek" departure route anywhere. This route was not only spectacular but stunning at the same time. It's no longer in use nowadays.
@sla31 Жыл бұрын
Well, I'll be honest, I don't know exactly what the lemon creek departure is, but I googled int and found some OLD videos from back when Alaska still used 737-200's. It looks very similar to one I got a couple years ago departing 08. Maybe this is like what you're looking for: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aH64o6yFm9OcicU

@@sla31 well... yeah the only video I found so far - is this bad quality 732 takeoff. This departure was used from 08 long ago, when airplanes were not powerful enough to jump over a hill on takeoff course. So they had to turn left right after takeoff and then do maximum angle right turn. Nowadays this Lemon Creek never used anymore because modern airplanes have much higher climb rate : )

@@GeorgeCatcheryeah I saw that 737-200 video. With the quality, it was hard to tell if it was exactly the same as my recent 08 departure, but it sounds like that link I sent is the closest you’re going to get to it these days. Departing 08 is definitely my preferred departure. The views are great either way, but those mountains are incredible beautiful when departing 08.

Great fly! You went to Thai Airways for the first time. How was the flight there?
@sla31 Жыл бұрын
It was okay. I actually thought the seat was more comfortable than my two flights on Qatar Airways. Although, I still don't understand why they decided to blare music the entire second half of the flight. Like, just over the speakers throughout the plane. The same 4 songs repeating over and over and over. It's going to be a nightmare to edit.

Next are you able to do a full flight from wherever you are to Manchester? That would be cool 👍

I have a HUGE question! How do you pay for these flights? It’s insane!
@sla31 Жыл бұрын
Well, several ways. First, I've fun this channel by myself for 8 years. And for the first 6 years, I didn't make a single penny. I was spending my own money, every month, just to take flights to post on here. So for the first 6 years, I spent my own disposable income on this channel. The last 2 years, it's actually changed. The channel has gotten big enough, and it generates enough watch time every month, were I typically make enough off the ad revenues to at least pay for all of my flights. Some months I even make a little extra. So now, after pumping literally thousands and thousands of dollars per year into it, it's finally starting to pay me back. The main income I get is the ad revenues from KZbin, and then I also have roughly 60 channel members and Patreon that also contribute small amounts per month to help ensure I can continue to make new content. I also then do some freelance video creating and article writing for aviation websites that also helps me pay the bills. And that's how I pay for stuff now.
