素盞雄神社 天王祭
六月は旧暦で夏。天王祭は、人や物の行き来が盛んな街道の夏に流行する疫病を、激しい神輿振りにより、御祭神の神威をより一層振り起こして祓う悪疫退散･除災招福･郷土繁栄を願う祭禮です。春と秋に稲の収穫を祈念感謝する農村型の祭禮に対して、京都の祇園祭と同様、都市型の祭禮といえます。宵宮祭・例大祭は、61ヶ町総代をはじめ氏子崇敬者の参列のもと、厳粛な祭儀が斎行されます。このおごそかな祭典を境として、氏子61ヶ町が勇壮華麗な祭一色へと染まっていきます。

June is summer in the lunar calendar. The Tenno Festival is a festival to ward off epidemics that spread in the summer on highways where people and goods come and go. . It can be said that it is an urban festival similar to Kyoto's Gion Festival, in contrast to the rural festival that prays and gives thanks for the rice harvest in spring and autumn. At the Yoimiya Festival and Reitaisai, solemn ceremonies are held in the presence of the 61 town representatives and worshipers of parishioners. With this solemn festival as the boundary, the 61 towns of shrine parishioners will be dyed in a magnificent and splendid festival.
