南越谷阿波踊り
本場徳島・東京高円寺と合わせ日本三大阿波踊りと言われるこの催しでは、踊り手たちが列になって通りを進む「流し踊り」、ホールの舞台を使って踊りを披露する「舞台踊り」、各連独自のフォーメーションや鳴り物で個性を表現する「組踊り」など、さまざまな阿波踊りを楽しむことができます。例年、前夜祭も含め3日間で市内外から約6,500人の踊り手と約75万人の観客が訪れ、南越谷のまちは阿波踊り一色となります。
Minamikoshigaya Awa Dance
Together with Tokushima and Tokyo Koenji, this event is said to be one of the three major Awa Odori festivals in Japan. You can enjoy a variety of Awa Odori dances, such as the "Kumi Odori", which expresses individuality with each group's unique formations and musical instruments. Every year, about 6,500 dancers and about 750,000 spectators from inside and outside the city visit over three days, including the eve of the festival, and the town of Minami-Koshigaya is filled with Awa Odori.
