Countryside of Japan has so many gems to offer. It's so calm and beautiful compared to the huge cities and people are way happier there. There's a reason why people on the island of Hokkaido get so old. It's that rural experience compared with traditions and a calm lifestyle.

Beautiful walk. It got a little bit dark here and there, but it was very nice and relaxing over all. Maybe starting half an hour earlier before sunset would be perfect. I think the green of the rice fields look even more intense and lush in those kind of light conditions. I'm looking forward to more walks around that area. Thanks for taking us with you!

It is great you went into a rural area. Yet it was not that far from an urban area, rather surprising. I never experienced the transition between the two areas by foot, only by train and that did not do it justice it seems. So this was a rather nice experience. First walk in a while where I also fell asleep while watching it. Which I mean as a compliment, for the video does justice to the tag Slow TV. Wishing there will be more of these in the future, so I can wind down after work.

In Yokohama, houses are often built on hills, and low-lying areas along flood-prone rivers may be rice paddies that are receptive to flood damage.

the more rural areas of countries are so much more interesting to me than the big cities, even in my own US of A. i'd so rather be in some tiny town in a midwestern state than in NYC or LA. i really recommend people go to the rural areas of countries you visit. big cities are fun and all, but nothing gives you a better picture of where a country came from than the small towns.

I'd love to know as well. I'm guessing rice mainly because of how the stalks look and because they're keeping it well irrigated. But, I'm not a farmer and there could be other crops that are kept that wet that I'm not aware of so...

For these types of video, the only thing lacking is the smell of things. The grass, the mud, the wood, heck even the cars. In a couple years I'll try to get to Japan at around summer end to walk around like this for a year of so. I'm not even that interested in cities and what I see, it's more for the tellurical forces.

You go too late, it's getting dark. Well, that made us see the bats. Overall it feels very urban, i didn't see or hear a single song bird in 1 hour of video. Even the grass is not varied. I am guessing there is no woodlands and trees and shrubs in this area. Where i live in the countryside i would hear many songbirds and see squirrels and deer for sure if I walk 1 hour. But i guess for city people, they think your video is countryside. I have seen city parks with more varied plants and trees than this.
