I am Japanese, and this is a very common Japan. It's nothing special, just a normal, everyday scene of Japan in the suburbs outside of the cities. My hometown is similar to this.

Unlike christianity, we, Japanese, normally do not go to temple for worship. As widely held events in Japan, we go to visit grave twice during the week of Spring and Autumnal equinox, and also to visit grave during the Obon vacation in August. Obon is the most important festival in Japan. It is a time when Buddhists remember people in their family who have died
