[4K] Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail Hiking and Trekking Doi Inthanon National Park Chiang Mai Thailand

Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail is a popular hiking and trekking trail located inside Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai province. The hiking distance is about 2.78km where you can have a green forest and a beautiful panoramic mountains view of Northern Thailand. The trail takes about 2-3 hours to complete and fit for beginner level hikers.
Before going to Kew Mae Pan trail please take a note that the trail is closed on raining season from June to October. There's not entrance fee, though it is a mandatory to hire a guide, which is Hmong hill tribe people. The guide fee is 200 baht for a group (not over than 10 people). Kew Mae Pan is a circular hiking trail, meaning you will go all the way right back to the starting point.
Depending on the weather, the visibility could be a clear sky mountain view or a mountain covered with mist, sometimes with a view of sea of cloud.

❇️ Does the trail open all over the year?
No. You can only visit Kew Mae Pan trail from November to May. The trail is closed on raining season from June to October.

The Kew Mae Pan trail opening hours between 06:00 AM and 04:00 PM
❇️ How much is the entrance fee to Kew Mae Pan trail?
There is no entrance fee to Kew Mae Pan. However, please remember that the trail located inside Doi Inthanon National Park, which entrance ticket cost 300 baht for foreigner (150 baht for kids / students). In addition you need to hire a guide to go trail, which service charge is 200 baht per group (10 people max.)
❇️ Do I need to take warm clothes with me?
In case you gonna start trail at early morning be prepared for the temperature about 0c - +2c degree. So it it a good idea to take a winter jacket, winter hat, scarf and the gloves.
❇️ Are there the restaurants and other facilities at Kew Mae Pan?
There are several restaurants, fast food stalls and coffee shop, and the toilets around parking lot of Kew Mae Pan trail. There are no shops, no trash cans and no toilets when you enter the trail, so make sure you are ready to spend there 2-3 hours and have enough drinking water with you before start.
❇️ How long to drive to Kew Mae Pan?
The drive from Chiang Mai to Kew Mae Pan will take you about 2 hours, but if you are starting from Chom Thong district of Chiang Mai, then it is just 40 minutes.
❇️ Can I go to Kew Mae Pan with public transportation?
No really, however it is possible to make this journey on a tight budget, which I did myself twice (cost me about 785 thb with all transportation, national park ticket and guide).
