Welcome to Koh Lanta and A&A Travelling. The island is located on the west coast of Thailand, in the Krabi region and is about 800 km from bangkok. Koh Lanta is actually two islands, Lanta Yai and Lanta Noi, both of which have been part of Mu Ko Lanta national Park since 1990. The main island is Koh Yai and it is here that you will find many amazing beaches, attractions and accommodations. Koh Lanta Noi is almost inhabited and not developed for tourism.
Koh Lanta has just under 20.000 inhabitants and is one of the most popular destinations in Thailand. Here you will find everything that makes a perfect island feeling like beautiful beaches, good and inexpensive restaurants, chilly beach bars, fantastic bungalows by the sea, a small pretty old town, rainforests with waterfalls and even caves to discover.
THINGS TO DO IN KOH LANTA
-Klong Nin Beach
The Klong Nin Beach is one of the main beaches and a real highlight on Koh Lanta. On this long dream beach, you will find lots of cozzy accommodations and lovely places to chill out. In the evening, when the small colourful beach bars and restaurants fill up, the beach gets really picturesque.
-Ban Saladan
The small village of Ban Saladan is located in the north of the island. If you arrive by ferry, you will land directly here. In this fishing village you can find everything you need. Here you find ATM`s, supermarkets, bakeries and even a hospital. If you Walk along the waterfront, you will find some good restaurants built on stilts out into the sea, perfect for a romantic dinner.
During the high season, the Koh Lanta small night market, takes place here every evening, where you can fill your belly with goodies at a reasonable price.
-Explore Koh Lanta by scooter
Exploring the most beautiful places, beaches and attractions of the island by scooter is probably the most popular activity on the vacation island. This almost 30 km long island has a well-developed road network and the traffic is also very calm. Almost every accomodation has scooters for rent at a price of around 200Thb per day.
-Kantiang Bay & Viewpoint
Maybe of the best things to do in the island is to visit Kantiang Bay in the southern part of the island. This amazing beach with its incredibly beautiful sea colors, tall palm trees and soft sand is definitely worth visiting. Besides Katiang Bay is still little touristy, which creates an incredibly idyllic atmosphere.
-Klong Khong Beach
This huge beautiful sandy beach, almost 3 km long is located in the middle of the coast. Thanks to its ideal location on the island and its uniqueness it`s a popular beach for a vacation on koh Lanta. Especially individual travellers and backpackers love this little paradise with countless beach bars which give it a cozy flair. Massage options directly on the beach to reasonable prices are also available.
-Koh Lanta Old Town
This is definitely a must visit place. The town is located on the east side of the island and is mainly inhabited by Thai-Chinese families. Among the main attractions here is the beautiful and even the only Chinese shrine on the island. Picturesque wooden houses by the sea, excellent fish restaurants and lovely cafes are worth seeing.
-Mu Koh Lanta National Park
This National Park in the very south of the island is another important place on the island. The journey to the park is really scenic, and you can even spot some monkeys or cows on the way.
The beach on the park is very beautiful and the water crystal clear. If you dare to make a jungle tour through the park you might discover some wild animals and tropical birds.
