A&A Travelling

Күн бұрын

Welcome to Koh Samet and A&A Travelling. The island is named after "Samet" trees that grow all over the island. The word "Samet " actually means Cajeput trees.
Koh Samet is located close to Bangkok, it takes 2-3 hours to get here. Once you arrive at the Na Dan Pier in the north of the island, you can easily walk to Sai Kaew beach which is the main area in the island.
This paradise is a pretty small island, just measuring just 7 km from north to south.. It has a quite relaxed atmosphere and is not so developed as some of the islands in the south. The main road runs from north to south, however most of the hotels, bars and restaurants are located in the northern island. Sai Kaew beach area is the most popular and it can get pretty lively here.
Koh Samet is a popular weekend getaway for Bangkok residents, during weekends the island gets quite busy, but during weekdays the island gets really quiet.
Most of the island is part of the Khao Laem Ya-MuKoh Samet National Park, that means you will have to pay an entry fee of 200 thb, a little more than 5 euros and Thai nationals pay 40 thb.
-Things To Do in Samet Island
Koh Samet has a fantastic range of things to do and activities to keep you busy on your trip!
From water sports such as paragliding and jet-skiing to snorkelling and diving where you’ll be able to see rare blue-tipped sharks. Koh Samet also gets very lively after dark - you can see fire shows after 20.00 or head to a bar.
-BEACHES
This paradise has many beautiful beaches that attract many tourists to the island. The most popular beach on the island is Sai Kaew. The beach is full of bars, restaurants and some great resorts too.
Most of the beaches lie along the eastern shore of the island and you can easily go beach hopping.
The beaches to check out include Ao Phai, Ao Chao, Ao Lung Wang, Ao Lung Dum, Ao Wai and our favourite Ao Nuan. Ao Phrao is located on the western shore and is known to be the best sunset spot on the island.
-Food/Restaurants
There are many reastaurants options and many of them are right on the beach. There`s something for everyone and the most popular dishes tend to be Thai cuisine, specially seafood but there are many international food options. One of our favorite places to eat is Pa Raht Restaurant located right in the middle of the town`s main street, 50 meters from 7-eleven
-Nightlife
The nightlife on the island is pretty lively, especially on the Sai Kaew and Ao Phai beaches both located in the northern area of the island. In the evening after 08:00pm on Sai Kaew beach you can expect to see fire shows which happen to be some of the best in Thailand.
-When to visit?
The best time to visit Koh Samet is during December to March which is high season. Low season is from May to October. This island is one of the driest islands in Thailand, there`s less rainfall here than other areas. Rainy season only stretches from May to Jully.
