I like all of your videos...no intrusive irritating faces...no narratives...no annoying background music (some are very good, but having no bgm is the pure way to go)....well done Sir!

funny how the small alleyways at the end of the video seem curious or almost magical because they're clean, safe and there's light in the windows, but imagine if they were dark, dirty and abandoned. nobody would want to walk through there even if it was a shortcut. many countries could learn from this, not only regarding maintenance but zoning too.
@BRuserOsaka7 жыл бұрын
this solves our problem of wanting to go back to Japan to film things.... we had a 320x320 camera while we were there... we were cutting edge being able to print out a picture from a digital camera for a friend.... and now 4K film in HDR!!!! wow... have times changed! Any picture we took back in the early 90's wouldn't have even had a 1/100th of this definition. Amazing!!! If you can even get a car and drive up through Mt. Roko or anything like that... the viewers here would think that's pretty cool.

Thanks for this video - your walk around Kyoto really brought back many fond memories of me and my wife walking around Kyoto on our trip there many years ago. I've had the opportunity to visit Japan several times and Kyoto was my absolute favourite. I'm not sure what it is, but there is a vibe or sense in Kyoto that I really connected with. I love the history and architecture and general pace of life. I plan to visit again someday!

At 00:55:41, if you had kept going straight down that little alley instead of turning left,, you would have come to KIKO on the right, one of the great little secrets and most delightful, precious restaurants in all of Kyoto. It is a tiny 12 seat 'kappo' place. You have to know it is there. The owner, Kimiyo, catches moroko in the Kamogawa and Ayu in Biwa Lake. Her dofu is to die for, as is everything else she offers, including chatting with her and watching her prepare your dinner. If you go there, tell her Bill from new York sent you. You will get a big surprise !!! IN FACT.. OMG,. right at 55:41 you can see Kimiyo, in the white 'kappo apron,' just going into her restaurant !!!

With all the eating places there are, one might be excused for thinking that Japanese people would be more obese than British people, but they are not. But I have realised that they do walk a lot further, so the exercise probably explains that. They seem to walk for miles and there are far more cars in British cities.
