The Lilienthal Park with the monument to the aviation pioneer Otto Lilienthal is worth a visit, especially in May at the time of cherry blossom can be experienced in its full glory.
But it is also a historical place, here Otto Lilienthal has made countless flight attempts from 1894, from a hill, which he had specially built for this purpose.
In 1990, the park was renovated and since then can be experienced again as it was originally laid out from 1928-1932 by the Steglitz city architect Fritz Freymüller with the assistance of the garden architect Paul Eschenbach.

I grew up on Schutte Lanz Strasse and have memories of sledding down the hill and skating on the pond. Ì used to leave my house ànd cross the street to walk through the park to get to school. I wish i could remember where the school was and which house. I also remember seeing people right across from my house doing aerobics in the grass of the park. This is awesome! I never thought i would figure out what park this was or ever see it again. Thank you!

Hallo ich habe Dich bei Arno entdeckt und war neugierig! Du erklärt auch alles sehr gut wie Arno und den Lilienpark haben wir bisher als Berliner noch nicht besucht! Gute Aufnahmen davon und sah ich da Drohnenaufnahmen? Was würde Lilienthal heute zu den Drohnen sagen? Ich selbst filme seit 2016 zusätzlich mit einer Drohne. Ich hinterlasse ein Abo und freue mich, wenn Neugier besteht! Beste Grüße Dietmar Ps. Ausser in Berlin sind wir auch bis weit weg unterwegs. Bei uns heißt es zurücklehnen und relaxen.
