Most small locos like this have similarly small whistles with a shrill, tinny sound. Happy to report this one is the exception. The sound has a pleasant depth to it.

I visited here in the early 2000’s, they run a great little operation. I’m glad they are still going strong and have added a new car to the consist.

The newest car in 4 Spot's consist is actually the open seater right behind the locomotive. I've never ridden in it, but that's mainly because I preferred the view from the rear caboose.

The engine you’re thinking of is former Cliffside Railroad No. 110, built by Vulcan in 1927. It ran for a brief period at Stone Mountain dressed up as the “Yonah 2”, along with two 4-4-0’s, No. 104 “General 2” and No. 60 “Texas 2”. The General 2 (ex. Red River & Gulf No. 104/Louisiana Eastern No. 1) is now displayed at the Southeastern Railway Museum. The Texas 2 (ex. San Antonio & Aransas Pass No. 60/Louisiana Eastern No. 2) is stored at the Knoxville & Holston River Railroad. The engine you’re thinking of, Cliffside No. 110 is at the New Hope Valley Railway in New Hill, North Carolina.
