Meursault is a French commune and a wine village in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in the Côte-d'Or department. Meursault is at an altitude of 243 m above sea level and has an area of 1622 hectares. Meursault is located about seven kilometers south of Beaune on the Paris-Marseille railway line, bordering Puligny-Montrachet and Blagny to the south, Monthelie to the north-west and Volnay to the north. The first written mention of it as a wine town can be found in a deed of donation from 1098 by Duke Odo I to the Cîteaux monastery.
The Climats of Meursault have been a Burgundian World Heritage Site since July 8, 2015.
