Thanks for the video. I have no idea why MTH has not provided more documentation on the whistle steam feature. You would think it could be a great selling point.

It is our understanding that MTH wasn't certain when they announced the product that it'd be a feature on the model, which explains why the catalogue didn't advertise it. Though one would think it'd at least have made its way to the owners manuals or box once they did include it. Rumor has it MTH hopes to include this new steaming whistle on all Premier steam engines.

I'd imagine that is coming with the new MTH site. The restructuring within MTH is coming with a lot of external changes, including the website. MTH hasn't updated or altered the site much at all since the restructuring was announced.
