GLAD TO SEE THAT JAPAN STILL HAD THEIR SPLASH MOUNTAIN!

As a Socal native, people of Japan, please keep this ride as is for as long as possible. It's special, and you're the only ones who can be trusted in keeping the spirit of the ride alive.

A perfect ride and quintessential Disney experience. US parks keep going backwards but Tokyo keeps the true Disney spirit alive.

See, this is what I call good maintenance, this version actually works well unlike the U.S versions that once stood.

I honestly couldn't spot a single malfunctioning animatronic or prop, which is absolutely incredible.

zero anything dated about that wealth of animatronics - ( 04:27 jumping fish!; 06:47 a story that makes sense even if you don't speak Japanese; 07:25 scary danger which we all loved as kids!)

What could happen to Tokyo's Splash Mountain since America's Splash Mountains got rethemed?
@anastasia-rv5si6 ай бұрын
Nothing considering Tokyo Disney isn’t operated or owned by The Walt Disney Company as they only pay to license Disney characters & name.
Tokyo Disneyland isn’t owned by Disney in the U.S, they’re owned by the OLC. I heard Eiger asked them to change it but OLC put their foot down and said no, thank goodness!😊

Tokyo's resorts are operated by a Japanese company (Oriental Land Company) on a license from Disney to use their branding. While final say of what happens at their parks is with OLC, Disney does have some leverage because they can negotiate the licensing terms. The current rumor mill says Tokyo is attempting to hold out as much as it can despite pressure from Disney, but is putting the ball in Disney's court to come up with a version that actually meets their quality standards before they agree to it; basically, they won't do it unless they can guarantee the replacement would be better than Splash.

Imagine if they just Updated Splash Mountain to have the same quality of animatronics that they have here😢 RIP SPLASH MOUNTAIN
American D/E/I destroyed this masterpiece in the States. It's literally a tragedy considering the piece of sh!t they replaced it with.

Honestly as someone who rode Tiana's its an amazing ride. Sure, Splash was amazing, but Tiana's is also great in its own right. I think you'll see that once you take the nostalgia blinders off
@A_A6102 ай бұрын
@@coasters_bgw The story issues are way too glaring to overlook, and they kind of ruin the ride for me.
@coasters_bgw2 ай бұрын
@A_A610 what story issues did you find?
@A_A6102 ай бұрын
@@coasters_bgw The fact that the story doesn't really use its drops effectively to tell it, they're just...there for the sake of being there. Splash used its drops to move the story along, specifically hyping up that final drop. Tiana's does the exact opposite, purposefully downplaying the drops to make them less scary (which utterly defeats the purpose of having drops that large).

@coasters_bgw The good ol' moronic nostalgia glasses fallacy. You don't need to have nostalgia to see what a dumpster fire Tiana's Bayou Abomination is.

I'm glad there's still a version of this ride left, it was an amazing ride. However, can't you admit it was falling apart and in desperate need of an update? It really looked awful near the end. My advice? Just let Splash be great and Tiana's be great, they're both awesome rides in different ways - Splash has a better story and music, Tiana's with better AAs and visuals.

@coasters_bgw What was falling apart? The animatronics were being neglected toward the end, because they were going to tear everything out. Tokyo's Splash is literally one day older than WDWs defunct attraction and it looks like its opening day new. Additionally, the ride wasn't being closed because of maintenance or lack of popularity, it was closed due to Disney's personal D_E_I reasons which still aren't made clear to this day. As of June 2023, Splash was rated the #1 most popular attraction at WDW.

There's nothing Disney could do about. They don't own Tokyo Disneyland. Also, I heard Princess and the Frog wasn't a popular movie in Japan...
