Nice compilation!!! I've always thought that PDX is one of the most beautiful plane-spotting places in the world. They don't get all the Big Jets or a high tempo of action, but the scenery and that eastbound takeoff with Mt. Hood in the background (with the Columbia River, Vancouver across the river, and Government Island as a backdrop ) is really breathtaking....

I remember many years ago (1986ish) that road next to the water had a pullout spot people would park in to watch planes arrive and depart from PDX.

...and in later years (late 90's - early 2000's) there was a food truck that parked there to provide refreshments to people wanting to park at that pullout on Marine Drive for plane watchers. It was a big disappointment when the area was barricaded to prevent any of this from happening anymore...

Yep that's Marine Drive. My dad and I went there often to plane spot back in the 80s and the 90s. It originally got shut down because of 9/11.
