[4K] SHORT HOP ACROSS ZIMBABWE | Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX | Victoria Falls to Bulawayo

Today we are flying from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. However, before flying north, we make a stop in Zimbabwe's second biggest city, Bulawayo.
It's a beautiful clear day for flying, and no longer have we reached our cruising altitude of 29,000ft do we begin our descent into Bulawayo. We had a strange approach - flaps were extended fully and landing gear lowered well before normal for a 737 approach. We then experienced a hard landing and had squealing brakes as we slowed down on the runway. Does anyone have any idea why? Let me know in the comments below!

The second leg of this flight (Bulawayo to Addis) was far better, but they also had a much longer runway to work with. And the 777 I took down from Addis to Harare the week prior had a buttery smooth landing!

Nothing ’hard landing’... but good vid

Pilot landed further down the runway than he should have... you can tell by the threshold markings and touchdown markings... thisbsi why the breaks were squeeking, full autobrake was probably applied as there was not much runway left

Hah it’s tough to get a true sense in a video! It’s like turbulence that’s barely apparent unless you hear people screaming 😂 What’s interesting here is that it was mainly caused by the pilot in command pushing the nose down as we had already flown well past the touchdown point

Not really. Even in a video a smooth and a hard landing can detected very easily. I can hear the sound of the landing, it is very smooth. Change the headline, it will make your video meaningless.
